Lala Kent recently shared details about a conversation she had with Katie Maloney during the Vanderpump Rules reunion. She mentioned that she felt they were not on the same page because she believed Katie was not honest during the season. Lala emphasized that their connection is based on being straightforward and not sugar-coating things.
Before filming season 11, Lala and Katie, 37, had a conversation with EP Jeremiah Smith that sparked their disagreement. Lala remembered the phone call vividly, where it was supposed to be a positive discussion. Jeremiah gave them the option to talk to him alone or together, and Lala chose to have Katie involved, referring to her as "my bitch." The conversation turned out to be very intense.
Lala described Katie as always agreeing with Ariana, even though she had previously expressed the opposite. When cameras were rolling, Katie would support everything Ariana said, even if it contradicted her previous statements. Lala then shared a quote from Katie about Ariana.
Lala claimed that she was getting annoyed because she felt like she was the only one putting in effort for the sandwich show. She expressed frustration over her business partner, who was always late with her half of the rent and seemed to be dropping the ball. Lala was worried about causing any conflicts because she had invested a lot of money into the restaurant, and her business partner was Ariana. She understood the pressure and admitted that she would probably feel the same way. Despite having opinions, Lala emphasized the importance of still supporting Ariana.
Initially, Katie denied remembering most of the details of the situation. She mentioned that Lala was accusing her of not being something, but she couldn't recall the exact details or what it was related to in terms of her and Ariana.
The conversation shifted when Katie challenged Lala to address the drama on the show. Lala responded by warning that if Katie interfered with her business, she would retaliate. She also took a dig at Ariana and Katie's sandwich shop, noting that it was currently inactive. Lala emphasized that her own business, Something About Her, is thriving.
Lala recounted that Katie became so enraged that she ended the conversation with a heated "F—k you, Lala" before hanging up. Despite the tension, Lala remained composed and asserted her maturity by calmly stating that she would see Katie the next day. This marked the beginning of the season.
Katie had a different perspective on the "ridiculous fight," wondering why Lala wanted her to discuss issues on camera that were no longer relevant.
She shared, "I can't pretend to be upset about something that doesn't bother me. If I'm not genuinely upset with someone in the moment, I'm not going to force myself to be upset. It's just not authentic."
Katie revealed the offscreen argument during part one of the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion, which aired on Tuesday. Shortly after the reunion aired, she took to social media to address the situation.
In an Instagram Stories post, Katie shared, "I've always struggled with imposter syndrome, which made me hesitant about opening the sandwich shop on my own. When Ariana faced challenges and opportunities, it impacted me during a crucial time. I was sensitive to her struggles and remained supportive throughout."
Katie criticized Lala for discussing her personal problems publicly.
She explained, "I was feeling very insecure about my abilities and didn't want to burden her with that. I had a strong emotional reaction that I didn't think was right to bring to her. Instead, I went to a place where I felt safe, or at least I thought I did. Those who know me understand that trust, loyalty, and integrity are important to me."
The second part of the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion airs on Bravo Tuesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Peacock the next day.
