Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have finally addressed the rumors swirling around about their marriage possibly ending in divorce.
In a recent interview with We discussing their Broadway revival of The Wiz, Burruss, who is 47 years old, shared how she first heard about the gossip. It was actually her 21-year-old daughter Riley, from her previous relationship with Russell Spencer, who brought the blind item to her attention.
Riley sent me a message asking about the rumors of divorce. She was confused and I didn't have an answer. Burruss shared during a joint interview with Tucker, 50.
Burruss believed that the speculations arose from a YouTube series they did together. They called it Todd and the Glam Squad, where she would get her hair and makeup done while they discussed hot topics and relationship issues.
Tucker mentioned that he and Burruss enjoy debating various topics. They have been wondering if viewers can distinguish between their regular conversations and real marriage problems.

Burruss clarified that the intense discussions between them may come across as anger to others, but in reality, they are just debating the topic. She mentioned that she has always been comfortable with such exchanges and can easily move on from them without holding any grudges. Burruss also acknowledged that while viewers may perceive their interactions differently, for her, it is simply a part of the conversation.
Tucker, who has a son named Ace, 7, and a daughter named Blaze, 3, with Burruss, agreed with his wife. "They're analyzing things like, 'Wow, he said this.' Or his posture.' You know how they do," Tucker, who also has a 27-year-old daughter named Kaela from a previous relationship, added. "But it was just a good, fun conversation and people just misunderstood. I was like, 'We are with each other every day.' It's not like, 'I haven't seen him wearing his ring or something.'"
Burruss mentioned that she is the one who usually doesn't wear her ring, even though she is wearing it today. She explained that people often wonder why she doesn't have it on, but her husband always wears his ring. If he forgets to wear it, it becomes a problem.
The couple, who got married in 2014 (Tucker was working on the crew of RHOA), try not to pay attention to rumors about their relationship. Tucker admitted that it can be challenging to ignore the gossip.
"It can be challenging. You're constantly in the spotlight and it's hard to let your guard down in public," he confessed to Us. "But to be honest, after doing reality TV with her in the past, I've learned not to let it bother me anymore. We understand how to handle it."
Burruss and Tucker believe that the key to a happy marriage is teamwork.
"He's a better communicator than me. When I'm feeling upset, I tend to close off and not want to talk until I've calmed down. I'm worried I might say something hurtful. But he's different, he likes to talk things out. His communication really helps us work through our issues because we have to talk it out."
Tucker explained his approach, "I try to see things from her perspective. It takes a lot of effort, but it's worth it. Time flies when you're having fun. 10 years have passed quickly, and it's been an incredible journey."
Burruss and Tucker have a strong partnership that goes beyond their marriage. They have a history of successfully blending business and pleasure, from their appearances on The Real Housewives of Atlanta to their ownership of the Old Lady Gang restaurant and production of Kandi & the Gang. Now, they are taking their collaboration to the next level by joining the producing team for The Wiz.
Tucker humorously shared, "We have a great dynamic when it comes to sharing ideas. I come up with some amazing ideas, and she lets me run with them for a while. But ultimately, we balance each other out. We keep each other grounded and focused."
Burruss and Tucker focused on showcasing the Black narrative in the Broadway revival of The Wiz. The star-studded cast includes Wayne Brady, Deborah Cox, and Nichelle Lewis, with the premiere on April 17.

Burruss shared that "The Wiz" was her favorite musical ever. The show, based on the Wizard of Oz, originally debuted on Broadway in 1903. She described it as a classic and expressed gratitude towards their producing partner Brian Moreland for suggesting a revival. When Moreland proposed the idea of bringing back The Wiz, Burruss immediately agreed and was enthusiastic about making it a reality.
Burruss reminisced about how working on the stage production brought her back to her childhood. She shared, "I saw the movie version with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson when I was younger, and I used to watch it repeatedly. I knew every song and every move. It was that musical for me."
Tucker also expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, calling it a "no brainer." He added, "From the music, the costumes, to the whole story, it's a classic. My mom actually took me to see the original production when I was very young. I don't remember everything, but I do recall it being a little scary. However, when the movie with Michael Jackson and Diana Ross came out, it was like, 'Wow.'"
The duo shared their vision for The Wiz, aiming to maintain the essence of the story while adding some modern touches.
"We believe that our version of The Wiz is not only funnier but also more relevant to today's audience. The jokes in our adaptation are inspired by current events, making it more relatable and enjoyable for viewers."
She continued to share, "We did a fantastic job casting an amazing group of performers. Everyone has great singing abilities and they are all vocally incredible. Even the dancers in the background can sing too. Someone mentioned to me the other day, 'I find it amazing that even your dancers can sing. That's awesome.' Everyone in the show is multi-talented, which adds to the fun and interactive experience, making you want to join in and sing along with them."
