Kaitlyn Bristowe expressed her sadness for The Golden Bachelor's Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, who have recently ended their relationship. In an Instagram Story on Friday, April 12, the season 11 Bachelorette shared her feelings after a fan asked for her thoughts on the couple's divorce.

Following their interview on Good Morning America where they announced their decision to end their marriage just three months after their TV wedding, Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, received a response. They explained that their cross-country living situation was the main reason for their split, even though they still love each other.

During the Friday broadcast, Gerry shared, "Theresa and I have had several heart-to-heart conversations. We've carefully examined our living arrangements and we both agree that it's time for us to end our marriage."

He mentioned, "One thing that really stands out to me from our discussions is how committed we both are to our families. Therefore, we believe that living separately is the best decision for each of us to find happiness."

On Friday, April 12, it was announced that Turner had filed for divorce in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, citing the same day as their separation date. The reason given for the divorce was the "irretrievable breakdown" of their marriage.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed by Us that the Golden Bachelor stars were not living together after getting married in January. Gerry went back to Indiana while Theresa stayed in New Jersey.

According to an insider, the couple decided to continue living in different states for now because Theresa needed to return to her job as a senior compliance officer at a financial advisory office on the East Coast. They are managing their long-distance relationship by making frequent visits to see each other.

Ashley Iaconetti, 35, shared her thoughts on the split between Bristowe, 38, and Gerry and Theresa. She mentioned that she wasn't surprised by the news, expressing doubt about their reasons for the divorce. Ashley felt that their statements about still being in love didn't align with their decision to end their marriage. She suggested that living in different states shouldn't have been a major issue, especially considering their ages. Ashley believed that better communication could have prevented their divorce after only three months.

The former couple first met and fell in love on season 1 of The Golden Bachelor. Their love story culminated in a televised engagement during the show's November 2023 finale episode. Two months later, they exchanged vows in front of ABC cameras, sharing their dream of starting a life together in South Carolina. Interestingly, this was the second marriage for both of them.

Editor's P/S:

Kaitlyn Bristowe's expression of sadness for Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist's recent split highlights the complex emotions surrounding the end of a relationship. The couple's decision to divorce despite their ongoing love raises questions about the challenges of maintaining a long-distance relationship and the importance of open communication. Ashley Iaconetti's skepticism about their reasons for the split suggests that there may be underlying factors contributing to their decision.

The fact that Gerry and Theresa were both experienced divorcees adds another layer to the situation. Having gone through a previous marriage, they may have entered this relationship with different expectations and perspectives on the challenges of marriage. Ultimately, their decision to end their marriage after only three months is a reminder that even the most promising relationships can face obstacles that prove insurmountable.
