In Kagurabachi chapter 7, instead of delving into Char's past and the Kyonagi clan as anticipated, a new character is introduced and intriguing details surrounding Genichi Sojo's ultimate plan regarding the stolen enchanted blades are revealed. Furthermore, the chapter hints at Shiba's prior occupation. In the previous chapter, Chihiro Rokuhira bravely battles against assailants intent on stealing his enchanted blade and kidnapping Char, with the intention of receiving limitless rewards from Genichi Sojo. However, the determined protagonist showcases the impressive capabilities of his katana, overpowering his adversaries and once again rescuing Char.
Kagurabachi chapter 7 highlights: Chihiro gets ambushed by new enemies as Azami comes to his rescue
The seventh chapter of Kagurabachi titled "Smoke Signal" was released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump 48 on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 12 am JST. In this chapter, Chihiro Rokuhira and Char were preparing to leave when they were unexpectedly attacked by two sorcerers who had been following Genichi Sojo's notice.
Fortunately, a mysterious individual came to their rescue and effortlessly defeated one of the sorcerers without even utilizing sorcery powers. The other masked enemy noticed a badge worn by this unknown person and recognized them as a colonel. He requested the colonel to stay put and then swiftly fled the scene.
The Manga image of Azami, as shown by Takeru Hokazono/Shueisha, introduces us to this character. In chapter 7 of Kagurabachi, Chihiro Rokuhira discloses that Azami, known to be an acquaintance, is connected to the Kamunabi, a government-affiliated organization. When Char inquired about Azami, Chihiro informed her of his association with this group.
He was different from the civilian sorcerers who carried out tasks for the Yakuzas and corporations, as expressed in Kagurabachi chapter 7. The scene then shifted to Hinao's cafe, where Chihiro, Char, and Azami returned. Hinao asked if he had come to take Char into custody.
Despite Azami's willingness to help, he explained that the Kamunabi was established after the war to "eliminate any threats to the nation." Therefore, he couldn't intervene in personal matters. Shiba mentioned how relieved he was to have left the group, confirming his past involvement with the Kamunabi.

Advancing the conversation, Shiba inquired about Azami's intentions. It was then revealed by the Kamunabi sorcerer that the authorities desired his presence.
Azami hypothesized that the upper management may have been curious about Shiba's intentions. He clarified that only a select few members of the group were aware of Chihiro's presence and the existence of the powerful seventh enchanted blade. This revelation was made by Azami in Kagurabachi chapter 7. He believed that the mere existence of the seventh blade posed a threat to the nation, and although he should have confiscated it, he decided not to inform the Kamunabi due to Chihiro's circumstances.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that he couldn't continuously feign ignorance regarding the Kamunabi, particularly if Chihiro insisted on openly discussing its usage. In Kagurabachi chapter 7, Azami then questioned Shiba about his commitment to maintaining complete control.
The sorcerer with light hair informed him of the changes that had occurred since Chihiro had acquired the ability to wield and fight with the blade. Additionally, he was aware that the discovery of the seventh blade was inevitable. Furthermore, Shiba had taken it upon himself to gather information, which is why he knew the true motive behind his summons by the higher-ups at Kamunabi.

In Kagurabachi chapter 7, it was revealed that a month later, the influential figures of the underworld would be organizing their highly anticipated annual black market auction, known as the Rakuza Ichi. The highlight of the auction will be Kunishige Rokuhira's legendary Shinuchi blade, one of the six remarkable blades he had masterfully crafted.
Interestingly, Azami mentioned that the blade would be presented by Genichi Sojo. In a later panel of Kagurabachi chapter 7, Sojo is depicted meeting with two enigmatic individuals, delivering his comprehensive report on the various aspects concerning the auction.

Upon returning to Hinao's residence, Chihiro deduced that Sojo must be intertwined with the Hishaku due to his possession of both Shinuchi and Cloud Gouger. Furthermore, Azami pointed out in Kagurabachi chapter 7 that Sojo had been put on the Kamunabi's blacklist for over ten years.
However, his cunningness and power prevented them from apprehending him. Additionally, the government sorcerer revealed to Chihiro that his subordinate had successfully eliminated the bounty that Sojo had issued for Chihiro's blade and Char.
Acknowledging Chihiro's strength, the dark-haired sorcerer requested that the protagonist leave the task of dealing with Sojo to the Kamunabi. However, he recognized the futility of his request. In a subsequent panel, Azami was shown staring at his mobile phone, which displayed a photo of him alongside Shiba and Kunishige Rokuhira, cementing his connection to Chihiro's father.
Azami speculated that the Hishaku group might be planning something significant with the enchanted blade, given their lack of prior bold actions. With the auction scheduled for the following month, he urged everyone to prepare themselves.
