Julia Roberts is delighted with life, crediting her husband, Danny Moder, as the source of her happiness.

"He's truly our rock and our confidant," remarked the 56-year-old Roberts during an interview on Today on Monday, December 4. "In the most wonderful way, he's the leader of our family. For me, the realization of the depth of life began with him."

The star of Leave the World Behind met the 54-year-old cinematographer while working on the film The Mexican in 2000. They got married in 2002 and welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in 2004, followed by son Henry in 2007. Roberts praised Moder and shared her secrets to a happy marriage during an appearance on The View on Monday.

The Oscar winner emphasized the importance of marrying the right person and spoke about the significance of showing affection through lots of kissing hello and goodbye in daily life. She encouraged everyone to try exchanging a hug and a kiss every morning for a week. The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg expressed her appreciation for the advice.

“Maybe that’s been my problem,” Goldberg commented. “I just do a kiss out the side of her mouth. ‘See ya, bye. Come back in a week.’”

Julia Roberts and her husband, cinematographer Daniel Moder, were in attendance at a reception for the 2022 Kennedy Center honorees at the White House on December 4, 2022. During the event, Roberts shared her admiration for Goldberg, who had collaborated with Moder on a recent film featuring Robert De Niro.

"I'm so proud of my husband, a talented cinematographer who filmed the stunning movie, Ezra," she said, motioning towards Goldberg. "And your performance in that movie was absolutely fantastic."

Roberts and Moder are on the brink of being empty nesters as their twins are off at college. Roberts expressed on Today how much she values the maturity her oldest children have shown.

"I have great appreciation for my two older children because they still let me be their mom without rolling their eyes. There's a strong sense of understanding," she said.

"I parent them the same way outside the house as I do inside," Roberts added. "I ask them if they're getting enough sleep, if they sound sick, and if they're drinking tea. I also tell them to text me when they get home so I know they're safe and sound."

Roberts emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong connection with all three of her children, even with their hectic schedules.

"We were all on a FaceTime call the other day, all of us together. It felt like a precious gift to have those four minutes of us all looking at each other. We were all so joyful to be able to be together in that moment," she shared.
