Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 17 (Image via MAPPA)
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17, titled "Thunderclap, Part 2," Megumi enlightens Shigemo about the historical struggle of Ten Shadows sorcerers attempting to exorcise Mahoraga, the most formidable Shikigami. In a bid to perform an exorcism, Megumi calls forth Mahoraga while involving Shigemo, resulting in the nullification of the ritual.
In a flashback, Satoru recounts a past event where a Gojo family leader possessing Six Eyes and Limitless powers clashed with a Zen'in family leader utilizing the Ten Shadows technique, ultimately leading to both of their deaths. Satoru hints at the possibility of Megumi gaining enough power to challenge Gojo, but Megumi understands that his potential victory would only come with the aid of Mahoraga.
Currently, when summoned, Mahoraga eliminates Megumi, who continues to exist in a state of suspended death. Sensing Megumi's peril, Sukuna rushes to his aid, swiftly comprehending that Mahoraga possesses the capacity to adapt to any assault. Sukuna releases a Domain that halts just before Megumi's location, expelling Mahoraga.
This event will eventually be referred to as the Shibuya Incident. Once Mahoraga is vanquished and Megumi is relocated to Shoko, Sukuna returns control to Yuji, who is horrified by the unfolding events. In a post-credit scene, Kento Nanami can be observed wandering aimlessly, his body partially scorched.
