Editor's P/S:

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024 generated buzz with its controversial nominations, excluding popular titles like "One Piece" and "Attack on Titan." However, the crowning of "Jujutsu Kaisen" season 2 as Anime of the Year sparked mixed reactions. The series's dominance at the awards, with 13 nominations and nine wins, reflects its critical acclaim and popularity. Yet, some may question if it truly outshined other contenders like "Demon Slayer" or "Vinland Saga."

The absence of "One Piece" and "Attack on Titan" from the nominations highlighted the awards' focus on the first half of the year. This decision may have disappointed fans of these long-running series, but it also allowed for the recognition of lesser-known but equally deserving anime. Overall, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024 provided a platform to celebrate the diversity and brilliance of the anime industry, even if its choices sparked some debate.
