Following this, Sukuna recites the incantation for "The Slash that Divides the World": "paired falling stars… repulsion .. Dragon scales." However, instead of the expected outcome, the slash turns out to be a modified version of the earlier ones, only managing to sever Higuruma’s right hand. Sukuna proceeds to slice off his left wrist as well, but Higuruma is able to heal himself using the Reversed Cursed Technique.

The lawyer feels uneasy despite being prepared for his own death. Suddenly, Sukuna is attacked by Piercing Blood, indicating that Choso is still alive. Taking advantage of the distraction, Higuruma uses the Executioner’s Sword to sever Sukuna’s upper right hand at the wrist.

Sukuna, however, had already severed his own hand before the sword could touch him, dodging Higuruma's Cursed Technique. Yuji then appears behind Sukuna and discovers that Higuruma has been sliced in half. As he falls, Higuruma utters "This is good (Sore de ii)" before dying, bringing back memories of Nanami for Yuji.

As Yuji grips the Executioner’s sword, it becomes clear that Higuruma has managed to pass on his cursed technique to the young boy, possibly through a Binding Vow. With Sukuna occupied, Yuji readies himself to launch a surprise attack from behind, aiming to finally defeat the Curse.
