In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 244, the much-awaited battle between Yuji and Sukuna is finally here after the comical showdown between Kenjaku and Takaba. The previous chapter had everyone laughing at the stage antics of Takaba and Kenjaku, which ended with Yuta making a surprise entrance and landing a hit on Kenjaku.

Yuta delivers a fatal strike to Kenjaku, swiftly beheading the curse and leaving fans speculating if this marks the demise of Kenjaku. This intense moment thrilled JJK fans, but there are still more surprises in store for the fandom. With Sukuna and Yuji’s showdown now underway, anticipation is high for what the next chapter will bring.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 244 to feature Yuji and Higuruma vs. Sukuna

Chapter 244 of JJK redirects its attention from Yuta and Kenjaku to Yuji and Sukuna as the former makes their way to the battlefield with Higuruma. We are shown a flashback of all the sorcerers as they strategize and prepare for a plan against the king of curses. Kusakabe suggests they need to determine who should join the fight and who should remain behind. However, Kashimo interjects by declaring it as a full-scale war; he believes that everyone should have the opportunity to confront Sukuna.

Kusakabe reveals that Miwa has made a solemn promise to never engage in combat. Moments later, they discuss the possibility of Kenjaku being slain by Yuta if Gojo is defeated. Naritoshi expresses remorse for not joining the fight, emphasizing that his family is his top concern and he is determined to shield them from harm.

Kusakabe then mentions that those with the power to use RCT and those who are willing to sacrifice themselves in battle can step forward, while others can take a back seat. Yuji attempts to comfort Kamo, saying that he has been a great support. He also remarks that Choso was a terrible teacher. Higuruma decides to pursue Kashimo because he can use his CT to capture Sukuna’s CT.

Lacking confidence, Kashimo asks, "Do you really think I'll lose? I'm getting angry." Hakari praises him for giving Gojo a prominent spot.

Imposing the death penalty

Kashimo inquires Higuruma about the possibility of using the death penalty on Sukuna using his CT, but Yuji asserts that it ultimately rests on Judgeman's decision. He also emphasizes that Higuruma is powerless in this matter. The boy points out that Sukuna has caused numerous deaths every time he takes over.

Higuruma discusses his crimes in great detail, beginning with the possession of Yuji. He then goes on to mention how the evil curse brutally killed Yuji Itadori, and how his good deeds brought him back to life. His list of crimes includes the murders he committed, one of which was Gojo Satoru.

Higuruma then admits to possessing and harming Megumi, using his body to steal a dead body. He believes that if the Judgeman takes all of this into account, then the death penalty will surely be imposed on the enemy. However, he notes that his CT only selects one crime at a time.

After the discussion between the sorcerers, we are finally taken to the battleground where Sukuna has destroyed Mei Mei's birds. She realizes that her birds are ineffective against Sukuna, Gojo, and Kenjaku.

She begins by distracting the king of curses to buy time for Higuruma, who uses his hammer to break Sukuna’s posture while Yuji throws debris at him. Higuruma then temporarily restricts Sukuna from using his weapon. When Yuji lands a heavy punch on Sukuna, we see his body shivering.

Higuruma activates Deadly Sentencing, and we are taken to a flashback scene where Yuji asks if they can use the trail from the Shibuya’s fight to prove Sukuna guilty in front of the Judgeman. However, things go awry when the trail begins in the present, and the Judgeman suspects Yuji for the killings in Shibuya. Higuruma defends Yuji by claiming he is not the culprit, but the chapter ends before Judgeman's final verdict is revealed.
