Judge Upholds Assault and Harassment Conviction of Former Marvel Actor Jonathan Majors

A recent attempt to overturn the assault and harassment conviction of former Marvel actor Jonathan Majors was denied by the judge, solidifying the ruling. The decision to uphold the charges was made following a rejection of the appeal on Monday.

Jonathan Majors, a former Marvel actor, will not have his conviction on assault and harassment charges overturned. The charges arose from a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Majors denied the allegations against him through his attorney in a statement to CNN in August.

In December, a New York jury found Majors guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a non-criminal charge of harassment as a violation. He was acquitted on another assault charge and one count of aggravated harassment.

Majors’ lawyer requested Judge Michael Gaffey in February to overturn the verdict and clear him of the charges.

Following this, the prosecutors submitted a response asking the judge to reject Majors’ request.

The judge denied the defense motion Monday, according to a copy of the decision obtained by CNN Wednesday.

CNN has reached out to Majors’ representatives for comment.
