Jonathan Groff was thrilled to witness his best friend Lea Michele going through her second pregnancy, describing it as a "surreal" experience.
He shared that during her last pregnancy, which occurred during Covid, he was unable to see her as they were in different locations. Groff, who was mostly in Berlin shooting The Matrix at the time, mentioned that Michele was in L.A. and he was in Pennsylvania, so he missed seeing her pregnant during her entire first pregnancy.
Groff, who has known Michele since they worked together on Broadway's Spring Awakening in 2006, is thrilled to be a part of her pregnancy journey this time around. He is grateful for the opportunity to witness every stage of it.
Last week, Groff excitedly shared that he felt the baby kick for the first time. It was a special moment that filled him with joy and anticipation for the arrival of Michele's baby.
Groff, the actor who co-starred with Michele on Glee from 2010 to 2015, mentioned that Michele looks fantastic while pregnant with her second child. He observed that she is embracing her pregnancy, which has changed her body. Despite this transformation, Groff commented that Michele still maintains her petite frame.

Jonathan Groff was seen at the Out/Advocate Pride Cover Party 2024: Pride of Broadway in New York City on June 03, 2024. He looked fabulous in the event.
Groff mentioned that besides Michele's physical transformation, she has fully embraced motherhood. He added, "She's a fantastic mom. I can't wait for her to welcome another little one."
In March, Michele shared the news that she and her husband Zandy Reich are expecting their second child. The couple, who got married in 2019, became parents for the first time when their son Ever was born in August 2020.
"Mommy, Daddy, and Ever are filled with happiness," she wrote as the caption for an Instagram picture showing her bare belly.
In another update two months later, Michele shared the exciting news that they are expecting a baby girl. "Had the most wonderful Mother's Day today, cuddling my son who made me a mom... and carrying my daughter," she wrote alongside a photo of her cradling her baby bump in May.
Groff is thrilled for Michele's growing family and equally excited for what lies ahead for him. Michele offered to be Groff's surrogate if he decides to become a father in the future. During an interview, Michele expressed her willingness to carry Groff's baby, to which he responded with surprise, asking "You will?"
Michele enthusiastically expressed her love for being pregnant, saying, "Hell yeah! It's so much fun." Groff, on the other hand, remained ambiguous about his desire for children, but appreciated Michele's support.
Groff, who came out as gay in 2009, acknowledged that working on Spring Awakening in the early 2000s helped him embrace his true self.
Theater was a lifesaver for Groff without him even knowing it. He reflected, "I didn't realize at the time how much singing, dancing, expressing emotions, and feeling joy through theater was helping me. I was young and ignorant, keeping parts of myself hidden and not understanding the true impact it had on me." Groff shared this insight with Us on Monday, highlighting the profound role that theater played in his life.
