Joey Lawrence Opens Up About Brother Matthew Lawrence's Relationship with TLC's Chilli

Joey Lawrence, 47, shared his support for his brother Matthew Lawrence, 44, and his girlfriend Chilli's relationship. He expressed his desire for Matthew to be happy during an exclusive interview with Us on Friday, March 15. Joey was promoting his partnership with Listerine for its Clinical Solutions line at the time.

Joey wants his youngest brother, Andrew "Andy" Lawrence, to be happy too. He mentioned that Matthew is already happy with Chilli (real name Rozonda Thomas).

Joey said, "Matt is happy and that makes me happy. It's as simple as that. It's really nice to see them together and they have a great thing going on. Let's see what happens next."

Joey, from the show Brotherly Love, shared with Us that he is really looking forward to seeing Matthew embracing this new chapter in his life. Matthew and Chilli, who is 53 years old, were first rumored to be dating in January 2023 after spending the holidays together in late 2022.

Joey mentioned that the most important thing is to be happy and to be with the right person. He described himself as a "hopeless romantic" and joked about being "married a billion times." Joey married Samantha Cope in May 2022, following his split from wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson in July 2020.

Even when things don't work out, like Matthew's almost three-year marriage to Cheryl Burke that ended in January 2022, he hinted that it's important to keep trying.

Joey emphasized that while it's natural to feel sad when something doesn't work out, it's crucial to prioritize happiness. He expressed the belief that both parties involved should strive for happiness because life is short.
