With a remarkable career that has surpassed two decades, the 37-year-old achieved incredible milestones, including securing the Champions League title with Lyon in the 2019/20 season and triumphing in the FA Cup with Birmingham in 2012.

Taylor will be remembered as a crucial member of the pioneering England team that secured third place at the 2015 World Cup. Furthermore, she emerged victorious and clinched the highly coveted Golden Boot at Euro 2017.

Notably, Taylor played a vital role in England's triumph at the SheBelieves Cup in 2019, where she shone under the guidance of then-manager, Phil Neville. She also showcased her skills and talent at the World Cup in France that same year.

The striker finishes her career with 51 England caps and 19 goals, and is 187 in the FA's legacy numbers scheme, which honours past and present Lionesses.

Taylor had a diverse career, beginning at Tranmere Rovers and later joining the Oregon State Beavers for college football. Subsequently, she played for various teams across the United States, notably reuniting with her former England teammate Casey Stoney at San Diego Wave. Additionally, Taylor ventured to Canada, Australia, and Europe to pursue her football endeavors.

Taylor has had two stints with Arsenal, the latest being her return to the club in March. She previously played for the Gunners from 2016 to 2017. Her retirement comes just before the upcoming WSL season commencing on Sunday, October 1.
