Jodie Sweetin has not ruled out the possibility of doing another Full House spinoff, but the recent passing of Bob Saget has brought up concerns about whether the series would be the same without him. In an interview with Hollywood Life on December 5, the 41-year-old actress expressed uncertainty about continuing the show without Saget's character, Danny Tanner.

Sweetin expressed openness to a future Full House project but emphasized that it wouldn't be the same without Saget. "I will never say that I would never play Stephanie again," she said. "The door is always open to playing Stephanie. She's a character that I know so well. Sometimes I don't know if she was influenced by me or me by her. We'll see. But I will never say that I wouldn't play Stephanie again."

Sweetin then proposed a version featuring a "Golden Girls-aged" cast, which would provide a reason for Saget's character, Danny Tanner, to not appear on screen.

The popular show Full House, aired from 1987 to 1995, chronicled the life of single father Danny Tanner as he navigated raising his three daughters — D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle — following his wife's passing. To assist him with parenting, Danny's brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), and his best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) moved in with him.

The sitcom was revived by Netflix as Fuller House in 2016 and ran for five seasons. Saget was one of the many OG cast members who appeared in the spinoff.

Two years after the conclusion of Fuller House, Saget passed away at the age of 65 in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida. In February 2022, the Orange County, Florida, medical examiner confirmed that his death was caused by "blunt head trauma" resulting from an "accidental" fall.

After Saget’s passing, the Full House cast issued a statement that said, "Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly."

In addition to Sweetin’s insight on how Saget’s death affected the Full House legacy, Stamos, 60, recently discussed how the cast’s close-knit connection has changed.

Losing Bob was really sad for a lot of reasons, but the hardest part was that he was the one who really held us together," Stamos told InStyle. "We still try to stay in touch and talk, but it's just not the same. We used to be like a family, and I think people could see that, both on and off camera."
