Jennifer Lopez Shares Red Lip Tutorial and Reveals Her Love for Taylor Swift: Embracing My Inner Swiftie

Jennifer Lopez has embraced the holiday season with her most recent makeup tutorial, drawing inspiration from Taylor Swift. The 54-year-old singer posted a video on Instagram on Monday, December 11, demonstrating how to achieve the ideal red lip. "When I envision red lips, Marilyn Monroe comes to mind, but so does Gwen Stefani and Taylor Swift. I'm a Swiftie as well," Lopez stated.
In the video, Lopez is seen standing in what looks like her bathroom, donning a plain black tank top, hoop earrings, and a necklace with her name "JENNIFER" on it. Her hair is styled in loose waves and parted in the middle. She kept the rest of her makeup minimal to make the red lip stand out on camera.
"One of the best things about the holiday season is being able to rock a bold red lip," she said to the camera. Lopez then grabbed a neutral lip liner pencil and started outlining her lips. "Some people swear by using a red lip liner, but personally, I prefer a neutral one. It gives the illusion of fuller, plumper lips," she explained.

Lopez then directed viewers to choose their preferred red lipstick and apply it to the center of their lips. She followed up by using a lip brush to define the corners and fill in the remaining areas of her lips. "I tend to overdraw my lips a bit when I wear red lipstick," she explained. "It's a look you can definitely pull off."
After swiping on the red lipstick, Lopez mentioned her preference for applying Beso balm to her lips. "The Beso balm will keep your lips hydrated and give them a plumper appearance," she explained.

JLo Beauty launched the ultra-hydrating lip mask Beso Balm Lopez in January 2021. Lopez also used the Complexion Booster from the same line to add a glowy bronzed look to her eyelids, which can be worn under or over makeup.
"I created this classic ‘Jenny from the block’ look," Lopez revealed, referring to the bronzed skin and red lipstick combination that she often chose in the early 2000s.
