Jennifer Aniston addressed allegations regarding her social media activity following the accusation of "liking" a seemingly antisemitic message shared by Jamie Foxx. In a statement shared through her Instagram Story on August 5, the 54-year-old actress expressed her displeasure and clarified that she did not purposefully or accidentally endorse the post. Aniston emphasized her stance against antisemitism, disavowing any support for such views, and highlighted her zero-tolerance policy towards any form of hate.

Earlier today, Foxx, aged 55, posted a concerning message on his Instagram. Alongside hashtags like "Fake Friends" and "Fake Love", he wrote, "They killed this guy named Jesus... Will they do the same to you???!" This post received immediate backlash and accusations of spreading antisemitic rhetoric. Foxx, who is currently recovering from a medical complication that hasn't been disclosed, has since deleted the post. However, a screenshot captured by A Wider Frame, a website that shares news about Jewish events, shows that Aniston appeared to have liked the post. Additionally, she shared A Wider Frame's upload in her message on Saturday.

Foxx has not yet responded to the controversy. We have contacted him for a comment.

Foxx's social media scandal, along with Aniston's response, arises almost a year after numerous celebrities united to condemn Kanye West for his antisemitic remarks.

Following troubling messages shared on Twitter and Instagram, West, aged 45, expressed his desire to target individuals of Jewish faith with an alarming term "death con 3 [sic]" in October 2022. As a consequence, his social media accounts were locked, leading to the loss of lucrative brand deals worth billions of dollars. To rectify the situation, the rapper, known for collaborating with Foxx on numerous tracks, including their 2005 hit "Gold Digger," issued an apology for his remarks.

Amidst the controversy, numerous prominent figures from the entertainment industry condemned antisemitism, highlighting concerns over the recent surge in hate speech and attacks against the Jewish community.

Reese Witherspoon, who stars alongside Aniston in The Morning Show, expressed her condemnation of antisemitism in any form, both in person and online, emphasizing that it is a form of hate that is completely unacceptable. Witherspoon further acknowledged the fear experienced by her Jewish friends and colleagues for the safety of their families, recognizing the alarming and unsettling nature of the current situation.

In a similar vein, Florence Pugh took to Instagram to assert that any manifestation of hate speech only serves to promote its growth and spread, likening it to a disease. She stressed the urgency of addressing and eradicating even the faintest hint of antisemitism as it poses a significant and imminent threat.

Foxx, for his part, chose not to speak negatively about his friend and collaborator during the difficult situation. In a November 2022 interview with TMZ about West's scandal, Foxx expressed his thoughts, saying, "Every time I talk to those guys we miss, I remind them of the times we used to have fun, smile, and be silly. Let's go back to that and let the world handle itself. But if we stop enjoying ourselves, especially on our side, who will continue to strive for it? We only have one life to live, and there is so much chaos out there."
