Jeff Lewis Claims He Could Have Rescued Josh Duhamel and Fergie's Marriage, Playfully Teases Audra Mari's Age

Jeff Lewis believes that he could have prevented the breakup between Josh Duhamel and Fergie. During an episode of his show Hollywood Houselift, Lewis, 53, shared his thoughts with Duhamel, 51, about how he believes his own marriage to wife Audra Mari could serve as an example for others. He expressed that they could have helped save Duhamel's first marriage if given the chance.

Duhamel chuckled and responded, "Well, here we are. Always learning and growing!" The actor was formerly married to Fergie, 48, for a decade from 2009 to 2019. The former couple, who have a 10-year-old son named Axl, revealed their separation in 2017 and completed their divorce two years later.

In an interview with Graham Bensinger in October, Duhamel expressed that the fame that came with being in a well-known couple was overwhelming for him. "I never really got used to it," he confessed. "I just longed for the simplicity of being myself, you know? ... I'm just not comfortable with the red carpets and Hollywood events."

Duhamel stated that he and the ex-Black Eyed Peas singer had different opinions on where to settle down. He wanted to go back to his home state of North Dakota while Fergie is from Southern California.

Duhamel married Mari in 2022 after parting ways with Fergie. The couple announced in September that they are expecting their first child together. When Duhamel appeared on Hollywood Houselift, Lewis jokingly commented on the age difference between Duhamel and Mari.

“Where is she today?” Lewis inquired about Mari.

“She’s finishing school,” Duhamel replied, prompting Lewis to shoot back, “High school?”

Duhamel told Lewis that Mari is pursuing a business degree, to which Lewis immediately asked, "Is she part of a sorority?"

Mari and Duhamel later dressed up as Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall for Halloween in 2022, demonstrating their shared sense of humor. (Smith married Marshall in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89.)

“What age difference? Ladies and gentlemen Anna Nicole Smith & J. Howard Marshall ️,” Mari captioned an Instagram video of the pair in their costumes.

Duhamel also admitted that he doesn't have the same energy as his wife during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2022.

"The morning after the wedding, I couldn't get out of bed," he shared, referring to the back injury he sustained from dancing on a party bus during his and Mari's wedding day.

Mari's thoughts that morning were remembered by Duhamel as he shared, "‘Oh, my God. Everything is fine here. This is, like, the first day of my marriage, and I’m wheeling my husband around in a wheelchair.'" Despite the vulnerable moment, Duhamel had a good sense of humor about it and remarked, “I’m already way older than she is. It wasn’t a great start, but I was like, ‘Babe, for better or worse.’”
