In a recent interview with Extra on Friday, December 15, Jason Momoa dispelled rumors of a feud with Chris Hemsworth, emphasizing that there is "no beef" between them. Momoa also revealed that he reached out to Hemsworth for help in preparing for his role in Aquaman, praising Hemsworth for being the epitome of being in shape and looking "wonderful" and "extremely big."
Momoa plays the King of the Seven Seas in the DC universe, while Hemsworth, 40, has portrayed Marvel’s Thor since 2011. Momoa recently joked on social media about wearing a padded wetsuit for his role, while Hemsworth had to train to play the often shirtless God of Thunder.
In a November TikTok video, Momoa teased Hemsworth, saying, "What’s up, Hemsworth? You had to work out. I didn’t." Hemsworth quickly responded with a video of himself doing bicep curls, remarking, "That’s a lovely padded costume you got there, Jason. I prefer a skin suit myself, mate."
Momoa told Extra that he teased Hemsworth in good fun, acknowledging that he doesn't have to work as hard to achieve the same level of fitness. "He's the winner," Momoa stated, clarifying that the video was meant to be lighthearted. "We're friends," he added, "and we find it amusing because I'm certainly not as muscular as he is. I'd need a suit to look that big."

When Aquaman 2 debuts on December 22, fans will notice more than just Aquaman's fake muscles have been upgraded. Jason Momoa shared that his character's wardrobe has undergone significant changes for the sequel, now officially titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. In September 2021, the actor took to Instagram to reveal a photo of himself in a new suit, featuring dark blue and silver accents, teasing "Second round. New suit. More action." (His previous outfit was yellow-orange and green, paying homage to the early Aquaman comics.)
The movie will undergo its own set of transformations. Momoa expressed his desire to explore new aspects of his character, including his role as a father and a king, in the upcoming sequel that he helped to develop.
“My upbringing was under the care of a single mother who juggled multiple jobs. I wanted to pay tribute to all the single parents out there through the script, as they are the true superheroes,” he stated. “So, this was my way of expressing love and gratitude towards my mom.”

The upcoming film "Thor: Love and Thunder" is set to deliver some unexpected twists and thrilling moments, according to actor Momoa. He mentioned that the movie will include some "scary moments", adding a touch of surprise for viewers. Despite his tough on-screen persona, Momoa humorously admitted, "I'm a big wuss. I don't do horror really well. You would be surprised what I'm scared of."
During an August 2020 panel discussion, James Wan, the film's director, supported Momoa's assertion of a darker sequel, saying, "The second one is a little bit more serious, a little more relevant to the world we're living in today. That's where it wants to go."
In a subsequent interview with Total Film, 46-year-old Wan highlighted that Aquaman 2 draws heavy inspiration from one of his favorite horror movies, Mario Bava's Planet of the Vampires. "You can take the boy out of horror, but you can never take the horror out of the boy," he joked.

Regarding whether Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be the final appearance of Momoa as Arthur Curry, the actor suggested that it may be "the end of the road," but he didn't completely rule out the possibility. "After twelve years of portraying Aquaman, it will be interesting to see how it concludes," he stated. "If the fans truly love it, anything is possible. Their support means everything."
