Princess Kate Middleton’s brother, James Middleton, is sharing his experience with a difficult neighbor near his farm in Berkshire, England.

In a statement to U.K.’s The Independent on Sunday, April 21, Middleton, 37, mentioned that the police were contacted shortly after his son was born due to concerns about the neighbor's activities. The West Berkshire Council also got involved after the neighbor complained about noise from tractors and animals on the farm, as well as other issues.

Reports have stated that a neighbor, identified as 65-year-old David Alderton, hung posters in the village of Stanford Dingley that were critical of the Middleton family, who live near his family farm.

Allegedly, Alderton warned Middleton that things would get tough after a long-standing disagreement over noise complaints. The Independent also reported that Alderton trespassed on James Middleton's property during the ongoing dispute.

Middleton informed The Independent that the West Berkshire Council failed to look into complaints that were described as "disingenuous." He also mentioned that Alderton has a track record of conflicts with neighbors in the village.

Additionally, Middleton stated that Alderton had trespassed on the farm on multiple occasions, leading to the Princess of Wales' brother having to contact the police.

Middleton resides at his Berkshire farm with his wife, Alizee Thevenet, and their 6-month-old son, Inigo. Alderton, who reportedly owns a motorcycle dealership, lives nearby across the street from Middleton’s family farm. In a concerning incident, Alderton allegedly permitted a journalist to use a drone camera to capture footage of Middleton’s wife and child.

Alderton refused to talk to The Independent, but he did criticize Middleton in a statement to The Daily Mail in February 2023. He claimed that Middleton's farm was releasing harmful exhaust fumes into the nearby area from a machine on the property.

"We have been residents in this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for seven years, enjoying all it has to offer. However, our peace has recently been disturbed," Alderton stated. "Recently, we have had to endure the unpleasant and harmful fumes entering our home from the inappropriate machinery being used by our neighbor. Despite complaints being filed with the local council, no action has been taken."

Alderton also described Middleton as a "hoarder" who has "old, loud, dirty, and smelly" machines on his property.

Alderton mentioned that since it's a farm, the owner probably believes he has the right to keep old farm machinery, even if it's in bad condition. However, Alderton emphasized that the owner also has a responsibility to consider the well-being of his neighbors and the environment. It's important that the presence of the derelict machinery does not negatively affect those living nearby.
