Unveiling the Truth: Assessing Gojo's Supremacy in Jujutsu Kaisen - Are his powers truly unparalleled or have other sorcerers eclipsed him? Uncover the real extent of Gojo's abilities in this captivating analysis

Does this mean that Gojo was overrated all this time, considering that Jujutsu Kaisen introduces several sorcerers with the potential to surpass him?

Additionally, the series features an overwhelming number of characters who have the potential to outshine Satoru Gojo. As the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, Gojo is in a league of his own, easily overpowering Hanami while Todo and Yuji struggle against the same foe.

However, Jujutsu Kaisen introduces several characters, including Fumihiko Takaba, Hiromi Higuruma, Yuta Okkotsu, Yuji Itadori, and Kinji Hakari, who are capable of surpassing him. With the series still ongoing, it's possible that more characters with similar potential will emerge. But if everyone has the ability to surpass Satoru Gojo, does that mean Jujutsu Kaisen overhyped him from the start?

Gojo, the first child born with the Six Eyes in over 400 years, possesses a rare and incomparable level of strength, altering the balance of the world. Prior to his birth, crimes related to curse users were frequent, while Jujutsu sorcerers grappled with an increasing number of cursed spirits. Human power was at its weakest. However, everything changed around 28 years ago.

The Jutusu world's decline was brought to a stop by a mere child, preventing curse users from committing crimes freely. The increasing strength of curses is also attributed to Gojo, leading to a dramatic improvement in the overall quality of Jujutsu sorcerers over the years.

Gojo has unparalleled knowledge of his abilities. In his battle with Toji, he even names himself "the honored one." Not even Kenjaku, one of the most terrifying villains in the series, dares to face Gojo, instead, his entire plan revolves around imprisoning him in the Prison Realm.

After getting unsealed, Gojo finds himself facing Kenjaku, who soon hides behind Sukuna as he knows Gojo can easily kill him. During the intense battle that follows, Gojo demonstrates his immense power by dragging and throwing Sukuna across the battlefield. However, even with his incredible abilities, Gojo ultimately meets a brutal fate. The series also exposes the truth that Gojo was never truly a match for Sukuna, debunking his previous claims of being able to defeat the King of Curses as mere hype.

Before we delve deeper into this issue, let's revisit the initial conversation between Principal Gakuganji and Satoru Gojo (Chapter 18). Gojo discusses his encounter with Jogo, an unregistered curse with the ability to communicate. As an educator, Gojo not only encounters curses, but also observes a rise in the quality of young sorcerers.

Students like Yuta, Hakari, and Todo are emerging more frequently than in his own time, when there were only a few decent first-grade sorcerers. Gojo believes that given enough time, these students will achieve what his generation could not. Additionally, he mentions the appearance of Sukuna's vessel, the first in over a thousand years.

With all these possibilities in mind, he predicts that the new generation will not be confined to special rankings. The surge of power that the top leaders are desperately trying to control exceeds their capacity. This new power Gojo mentions could be linked to newly awakened sorcerers like Higuruma and Takaba.

They differ from traditional sorcerers in that their powers were awakened through Kenjaku’s manipulation. Within just two months, they have displayed significant growth and with further training, could potentially reach the pinnacle of the Jujutsu world. However, despite their potential, they still fall short of matching Gojo's abilities, as do his own students.

As a result, Gojo's powers were never overhyped in Jujutsu Kaisen. Even though Gojo claimed that Sukuna didn't require Megumi's powers to defeat him, there is still no explanation of how the villain could have penetrated Gojo's Infinity without Mahoraga's ability. The showdown between Sukuna and Gojo was essentially a two-on-one battle.

The series built up Gojo for a good reason. He has set a standard for other sorcerers to aspire to. As for losing to Sukuna, the villain is simply an unstoppable force. Regardless of how much fans adore him, Gojo is not the main character. Therefore, it was never feasible for Gojo to defeat Sukuna.

As a dedicated fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I have always been captivated by the immense power and enigmatic presence of Satoru Gojo. His introduction in the series set a high standard for strength and abilities, making him seem almost invincible. However, as the story progressed and new characters were introduced, doubts began to arise regarding the true extent of Gojo's power. The emergence of sorcerers like Fumihiko Takaba, Hiromi Higuruma, Yuta Okkotsu, Yuji Itadori, and Kinji Hakari, all possessing unique abilities and potential for growth, challenged the notion of Gojo's unrivaled supremacy.

While Gojo's contributions to the Jujutsu world are undeniable, with his birth marking a turning point in the balance of power and the overall quality of sorcerers, the series has subtly hinted at the possibility of his overestimation. The revelation that Gojo's claims of being able to defeat Sukuna were mere hype further fueled these doubts. The fact that Kenjaku, a formidable villain, went to great lengths to imprison Gojo rather than confront him directly suggests that Gojo's true power may not be as insurmountable as initially believed.
