Marvel's Spider-Man Continues to Tease Green Goblin

The Green Goblin has been hinted at in Marvel's Spider-Man franchise from the start, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 continues to build on that anticipation. Oscorp has created detailed plans for hand grenades, a combat helmet, and a glider, which were discovered by MJ. While it's still uncertain whether Harry or Norman will assume the role, Norman is now moving forward with a G-Serum that is not subtly named.

It appears that Insomniac intends to make the Green Goblin the primary antagonist in their "final chapter," creating a long-term, overarching story. In addition to the already evident armor, it is unclear if Insomniac will portray the Green Goblin with advanced technology, a medieval elf aesthetic, or as a massive monster. Regardless, fans will have to wait quite some time to see Insomniac's interpretation.

How Green Goblin Could Play in an NRS Marvel Game

It would be amazing to witness the gameplay of Green Goblin if NetherRealm ever ventured into developing a Marvel game during that period. Given Goblin's extraordinary abilities to maneuver through the air on his glider, his character design could potentially mirror that of Blue Beetle from Injustice 2 or Nitara from Mortal Kombat 1, resulting in a remarkable combination.

The Goblin could excel in zoning, utilizing pumpkin bombs and razor bats to attack opponents. While his moves may not be typical in fighting games, his unique design and rare inclusion in games could make him a popular choice, particularly as an adversary to Spider-Man. Additionally, NetherRealm could consider giving the Goblin different skins to resemble the orange Hobgoblin look. This character has endless potential, and getting ahead of Insomniac's portrayal could generate significant interest before the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 3.

Editor's P/S

As a long-time fan of both NetherRealm Studios and Marvel, the prospect of an NRS Marvel game is incredibly exciting to me. NetherRealm has proven their expertise in the fighting game genre with their work on the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises, and I believe they would bring a unique and captivating take to the Marvel universe.

One of the things I'm most excited about is the potential for NetherRealm to introduce iconic Marvel villains before Insomniac's Spider-Man. Green Goblin is a great example of a villain who could be perfectly suited for an NRS game. With his combination of飛行能力, pumpkin bombs, and razor bats, Green Goblin would make for a dynamic and challenging opponent. I can also imagine NetherRealm putting their own unique spin on the character's design, making him even more visually striking and memorable.

Of course, Green Goblin is just one example of the many exciting possibilities that an NRS Marvel game could offer. With the vast array of characters and storylines to choose from, NetherRealm could create a truly epic fighting game that would appeal to fans of both Marvel and fighting games. I sincerely hope that this game becomes a reality, as I believe it would be a major success for both NetherRealm and Marvel.
