The remaining episodes for Season 2 are set to return in 2024. Kirkman mentioned the concept of splitting the season into halves, stating:

It's literally everywhere. I'm not sure what it is about it. I think it's an excellent tool for incorporating different versions of things, which I believe is becoming... I'll call it an 'easy button.' It's like saying, 'let's make this cool by featuring that character from that other universe.' As a fan, I find it absolutely thrilling."
