Throughout the initial 9 episodes, the four main characters have operated individually, except for a brief encounter between Trevante and Caspar in London towards the end of Season 1. During that time, Caspar was thought to be deceased. However, to everyone's surprise, Caspar is very much alive and has formed an alliance with the brilliant engineer Mitsuki. Mitsuki has been diligently working on identifying the weaknesses of the alien invaders, aiming to empower humanity for an eventual counterattack.
In the opening scenes of the finale, Caspar reunites with Trevante, who is navigating a secretive military facility alongside a courageous local named Rose (Nedra Marie Taylor). Their primary objective is to uncover concealed truths. Trevante is taken aback by Caspar's presence, as he had believed his friend had perished months ago in London during the previous season's finale. After Caspar vouches for the capabilities of the Navy SEAL, Trevante persuades Madam President Learah (Tamara Lawrence) that he is the most suitable candidate to confront the alien forces. Regrettably, Learah dismisses his proposal, citing concerns about his recklessness and the potential impact on the future of human civilization.

After being taken captive, Aneesha endeavors to elucidate the practical applications of the extraterrestrial shard to the military installation's general. She believes that divulging every bit of information about this artifact will aid her in negotiating the safe return of her daughter, Sarah. Eventually, a heartwarming reunion takes place between Aneesha and her child. The pivotal figure in the climax is Luke (Azhy Robertson), Aneesha's son, who possesses the extraordinary ability to telepathically neutralize the invading aliens and deter them while the group formulates a strategy. Moreover, he can perceive what the collective consciousness observes and promptly alerts the army forces about their intended destination— the town. Consequently, Luke emerges as the leader, guiding the armed soldiers into the town where he spots something in the far-off sky. Looking upward, he utters the spine-chilling words, "They're here," consequently initiating a full-throttle battle between the extraterrestrials and humanity. Taking the forefront, Trevante hurls grenades and issues commands to the civilians. As the aliens seem to succumb to an imperceptible force and perish, a soldier queries Luke about being responsible for obliterating the invaders. In response, Luke simply states, "They did," gazing skywards. The subsequent shot depicts Caspar, Jemila (India Brown), Monty (Paddy Holland), and the other children meditating, united in a circle while holding hands. Together, they channel their telepathic prowess, channeling it into ethereal daggers that ultimately vanquish the alien menace.

Each time Mitsuki and Caspar enter the consciousness of the aliens and their hive mind, they endanger their physical and mental well-being. In the finale, they both gear up for another perilous journey inside. Madam President commands Dr. Maya Castillo (Naian Gonazalez) to send Mitsuki through the portal and launch an attack on the hive mind from within. It becomes evident at this juncture that humans can only defeat the invaders by infiltrating them. As Jamila (India Brown) attempts to calm Caspar before he courageously plunges back into the hive mind, it becomes apparent that victory requires both of them to battle the aliens. Mitsuki convinces Maya to disconnect her from the confines of reality and all comprehensible explanations, so she can enter with a clear mind. She is prepared to sacrifice her life if necessary. However, it is slightly frustrating not knowing what plan, if any, the humans are devising or if they are merely improvising.

A portal door has emerged on the main strip of the Oklahoma town, kept ajar by Mitsuki and Caspar through their telepathic bond with the alien consciousness. It effortlessly repels anyone who attempts to approach or harm it, tossing them aside like mere puppets. Only Trevante is granted access. Meanwhile, Maya implores the President to swiftly execute her undisclosed plan. Trevante bids farewell to Rose, dons a complete hazmat uniform along with a helmet, and embarks into the unknown, braving the perils that lie ahead. The climactic scenes unfold within the alien hive mind as Trevante cautiously navigates the luminous kaleidoscopic domain of undulating beams of light and shadows. Utilizing the shard, he endeavors to decipher the intentions of the extraterrestrial beings and is startled by the presence of Caspar standing behind him. The two comrades prepare themselves for a fierce confrontation with the alien intellect. Meanwhile, back on Earth, after experiencing overwhelming psychological strain, the concluding image of Mitsuki—the arguably most fascinating and captivating character—is her unconscious form lying face down on the floor. Is Mitsuki deceased? This remains a pivotal unanswered question, as the open-ended cliffhanger finale continues to unfurl. Notably, a remarkable twist awaits in the final scene.

In a surprising turn of events, Caspar encounters Travante inside the alien hive mind and instructs him, "Come with me." However, as Caspar turns around, a close-up of his face reveals a momentary transformation where his eyes distinctly turn completely white while emitting a peculiar and eerie squishing sound. Is this truly the same individual we once knew, or is it a manifestation created by the hive mind to win the trust of their adversary, Trevante? It is worth noting that Trevante possesses the alien shard, which Luke has effectively utilized to combat the aliens throughout the season. Could this mean that Caspar has been an undercover alien agent all along, as Monty has been suggesting in Season 2? The concluding scene offers a wide panoramic view of the vast hive mind, dwarfing Trevante as he hesitantly embarks on what could potentially be a trap. Season 3 guarantees a thrilling start as new revelations, masterfully set up in the finale, unfold.
