The Valley’s Michelle Lally and Jesse Lally were on rocky ground before their March split — and We’s exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming Bravo episode proves it.

Michelle expresses that many of her needs are not being fulfilled in her relationship with Jesse, as seen in the first look of the upcoming episode of The Valley on Tuesday, April 2.

Sitting on the couch with her husband, Michelle starts to cry. She seems uneasy and distant, with closed-off body language, while their marriage counselor watches from across the room.

In the video, Michelle and Jesse sit down with their counselor for the first time in person. Jesse mentions that he sees their counselor more as a coach than a therapist.

According to Jesse, the counselor's aim is to help them become the best versions of themselves. He believes that if they both strive to be the best versions of themselves and remain in love, their marriage will not only survive but also improve.

When Michelle and Jesse think about how they are working together, Jesse also has some complaints. He feels like there is constant conflict between them.

In a clip, viewers witness Jesse getting upset with Michelle for adding "too much milk" in his coffee. He jokes about having to pour it out because of the excessive milk, while Michelle leaves the kitchen.

During the meeting, Jesse further alleges that they plan to go “into the depths” of their relationship in hopes of moving “forward.”

Jesse and Michelle, who had expressed hopes of repairing their relationship, officially separated in March after being married for almost six years. They became engaged in November 2017 and exchanged vows a year later in California. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Isabella, in 2020. (The filming of Season 1 of The Valley took place in 2023.)

Their split occurred following their absence together on the red carpet at The Valley's Los Angeles premiere earlier that month. In the first episode of The Valley, which aired on March 19, it was clear that Jesse and Michelle were facing challenges in their marriage and with their parenting responsibilities.

"During the first episode, Michelle revealed that Jesse never woke up once. She mentioned that she slept separately with Isabella for a year. She also mentioned that it takes someone special to handle Jesse's hands-off approach with their daughter as a baby.

Jesse admitted that he wasn't fully engaged when they became parents. He acknowledged that they transitioned from the fun honeymoon stage once the baby arrived. He confessed that while Michelle evolved as a mom, he wasn't quite evolving as a dad. He explained that this was where they were at in their parenting journey."

Michelle and Jesse openly shared their challenges and excitement for the future on the show.

Last month, Michelle revealed to Us that people often comment on how the show reflects their true selves. She admitted, "Taking a step back, I can see that we do have some marital issues."

She mentioned that it was important for fans to see their authenticity on the reality show. They made sure to be genuine and show both the good and the bad in their lives.

In a different interview in March, Jesse shared with Us that the main focus of their storyline is his journey to become a better version of himself.

He said that people change over time, and if your marriage or relationship doesn't change along with it, it won't succeed no matter how much you desire it.

"The Valley" is shown on Bravo every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET, and can be streamed on Peacock the following day.
