The Oscar winners expanded their family by welcoming Shiloh in 2006, and then adopting Pax from Vietnam in 2007. One year later, Jolie gave birth to their twins, Knox and Vivienne.

However, since the couple split in September 2016, the stars of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" have faced challenges in co-parenting. Their relationship took a turn for the worse in October 2021 when Jolie sold her stake in their winery business, Chateau Miraval. According to a source, Pitt felt that the sale was a deliberate attempt to hurt him. He later sued Jolie in February 2022, accusing her of selling her shares without his knowledge and violating their agreement to only sell with mutual consent.

Jolie has made allegations of abuse, which Pitt has strongly denied.
