Jason Derulo and his ex-girlfriend Jena Frumes spared no expense when it came to their son Jason King's birthday celebration. During an interview with radio cohost Kyle Sandilands on the "Kyle and Jackie O Show," Derulo, 33, was asked about the lavish party and its cost.
The singer known for his hit song "Talk Dirty" candidly revealed the amount he spent on hosting the extravagant celebration. "It was quite a grand affair, costing me approximately $30,000," Derulo admitted during his appearance on an Australian radio show. The party had a unique theme called 'Growing 2 Soon,' incorporating the number two creatively.
Jena Frumes and Jason Derulo, along with their son Jason King, recently celebrated Jason King's second birthday. Despite Jena currently working as a mentor on The Voice Australia, she made sure to fly back to Los Angeles from Florida for the special occasion.
"Two years ago, you entered my life and brought an abundance of love, laughter, and mischief. From the adorable chaos of the terrible twos to the heartwarming moments that brighten my days, you have completely captured my heart in the most extraordinary way," Derulo enthusiastically expressed on Instagram on June 15, accompanied by festive photos. "Today, we celebrate the remarkable journey of your life, filled with thrilling adventures and unstoppable growth."
He further stated: "May your special day overflow with double the laughter, double the cuddles, and double the happiness. You are our greatest gift, and we eagerly anticipate the bright future that awaits our little shining star. Happy birthday, Bubba!"
The outdoor celebration included a bouncy castle, a ball pit, various craft stations, arcade games, and a mesmerizing magic show. Attendees were given temporary tattoos featuring Jason King's face and enjoyed a delicious Baby Shark-themed cake. In May 2021, Derulo and Frumes joyfully welcomed their son into the world. Although they eventually separated after four months, they remain dedicated to co-parenting.
"In a statement posted on Twitter back in September, he acknowledged his ex-partner's exceptional mothering skills while expressing the belief that being apart would enable both of them to truly become the best versions of themselves and the best parents they can be. He also requested privacy during this period. As Derulo and Frumes continue to co-parent their toddler, they have taken delight in witnessing their child's growth."
"On Thursday, he jokingly remarked, 'You just look away for a moment and suddenly, he's perched on top of something. Boys can be quite a handful, risking their safety without a second thought. I mean, seriously, do they even care about living or what?' He continued, 'Why would anyone think it's a good idea to jump off a chandelier? How on earth did they manage to get up there in the first place? It's absolutely mind-boggling.'"
