In Season 2 Episode 3 of Invincible, fans were treated to one of the comic's most intense and disturbing beatdowns, which has been widely praised as one of the show's standout and most emotional scenes. Allen the Alien, portrayed by Seth Rogen, who previously had a confrontation with Invincible due to a navigational error, has had limited screen time in Season 2. However, in the final scene of the previous season, he forewarned Mark about the impending arrival of the Viltrumites.
Episode 3 addresses his absence by providing him with his own title card and recounting his backstory prior to his arrival on Talescria to inform the Coalition of Planets about Invincible and his potential role in overthrowing the Viltrum empire.
Later on, Allen meets up with Thaedus (voiced by Peter Cullen) and shares a meal with General Telia (played by Tatiana Maslany), but their dinner is abruptly interrupted. Spoilers ahead...
Invincible fans shocked by Allen’s fight in Season 2 Episode 3
Right when Allen is on the verge of divulging Thaedus' suspicions of a traitor within the council to Telia, he is suddenly thrust out of the restaurant and into the vastness of outer space. This was no accident: It was orchestrated by three Viltrumites, one of whom goes by the name of Thula, with a braided spear embedded in her hair. They demand information about Mark and claim they might spare his life if Allen cooperates and reveals what they want to know. This contradictory behavior contradicts their usual "eliminate first, inquire later" approach, as Allen astutely points out.
With a reassuring look at Telia, Allen proceeds to confront the conquerors, who ruthlessly pummel him, barely stopping short of killing him. One of them lands a strong punch that knocks out his eye, while Lucan tears off his arm and hurls him back to Thula. The brutal assault culminates in a gut punch that causes his insides to splatter from his back, resembling a fatality move from Mortal Kombat.
