However, tragedy strikes on the day of her initiation, as an explosion claims the lives of her fellow Warriors. Consumed by guilt, Illari solemnly pledges to make amends for her role in the devastating incident. Prior to this, Overwatch 2 had already confirmed Illari's abilities, unveiling the sun as a central element in her toolkit.

Illari's arrival in Overwatch 2 brings a more dynamic and aggressive approach to the Support role for players. Notably, she follows Lifeweaver as the second consecutive Support hero introduced by Blizzard in Season 4.
