"I'm so proud of myself," Świątek shared with the WTA. "I'm really happy. This tournament may have seemed like I had it all together based on the scores, but it was actually a challenging journey from start to finish.

"I'm glad I was able to grow and get better as the tournament progressed. I felt strong and confident during the last two matches."

At just 22 years old, Świątek has already achieved great success in tennis, winning four grand slam titles and eight **WTA 1000 title**s.

In a rematch of the 2022 final, where Świątek had previously won with a dominant 6-4 6-1 victory, she narrowly won the back-and-forth opening set, but the second set ended quickly.

Sakkari expressed in her on-court interview with the BBC that she apologizes for not putting up a stronger fight. She acknowledged that the match may have seemed quick for spectators, but she credited Iga for being an amazing player, a good person, and an incredible champion.
