After almost forty years since the release of Back to the Future, the original cast members came together again to commemorate the debut of the stage adaptation of the beloved film. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson, known for their roles as Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Lorraine Baines, respectively, in the famous trilogy, posed for photographs during the premiere of Back to the Future: The Musical in New York City on Tuesday, July 25.
Adapted from the 1985 film with the same title, this production revolves around Marty (portrayed by Casey Likes) who becomes trapped in the past after embarking on a time-travel journey to the 1950s. As Marty strives to secure his family's future, he also endeavors to find a way back to his present-day existence, aided by the ingenious Doc Brown (played by Roger Bart). Following its premiere in London's West End in 2021, the musical transferred to Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre.

Michael J. Fox Reunites With OG 'Back to the Future' Cast at Broadway Musical's Premiere

Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson, who played the roles of Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Lorraine Baines in the film trilogy, posed for photographs at the premiere of Back to the Future: The Musical in New York City on Tuesday, July 25th.
The show is a theatrical adaptation of the 1985 film and centers around the character Marty (portrayed by Casey Likes), who becomes trapped in the 1950s after time travel. In an effort to ensure his family's future and find a way back to his own time, Marty must orchestrate his parents' relationship while receiving assistance from Doc Brown (played by Roger Bart). After its initial premiere in London's West End in 2021, the musical later transferred to Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre.

Seeing Double
Fox shared a conversation with his onstage counterpart, Likes, a 21-year-old, and musician Huey Lewis on the red carpet. Lewis, who is 73 years old, and his band, the News, contributed two of the film’s most iconic songs, namely, "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time," both of which have been incorporated into the stage adaptation.

Blast From the Past
The Broadway debut of the musical takes place almost four decades after the initial release of the original movie. Subsequently, the film gave rise to two follow-up installments: Back to the Future Part II in 1989 and Back to the Future Part III in 1990.

Spielberg Arrives
Steven Spielberg was in attendance at the musical's premiere on Tuesday, joining a host of other notable guests. A recipient of numerous accolades, including an Oscar, Spielberg, who is 76 years old, played a significant role as an executive producer in the production of the original films, which were helmed by Robert Zemeckis.
