Marvel's Avengers will be digitally discontinued after September 30. However, you can currently purchase its definitive edition for as low as $4 from various digital storefronts. This edition includes a significant amount of content and an impressive single-player campaign mode. The campaign follows the story of Miss Marvel's rise, while also featuring popular Marvel characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and the Hulk. Throughout the campaign, players will enjoy exciting moments where they battle robotic hordes, mercenaries, and rogue scientists employed by Advanced Idea Mechanics.

Phil Hornshaw stated in Our Website's Marvel's Avengers review in 2020 that Avengers feels like two distinct games merged together. Although they don't always align perfectly, both parts are connected by intricate and intelligent combat involving a variety of superheroes. Following its initial release, Crystal Dynamics expanded the Avengers game by introducing Hawkeye and Black Panther expansions, as well as adding new characters such as Spider-Man, Jane Foster's Mighty Thor, and the Winter Soldier.

The definitive edition also includes a substantial amount of downloadable content (DLC) and cosmetic items, equivalent to the value of a SHIELD Helicarrier. Originally, these extras would have cost much more. This allows players to dress Earth's mightiest heroes in outfits inspired by their cinematic and comic book counterparts. While the digital version is scheduled for removal at the end of the month, physical copies of Marvel's Avengers can still be easily found. GameStop is currently offering copies for as low as $5 through a promotional deal.

Crystal Dynamics announced the end of support for Marvel's Avengers in January, with the final major patch going live in March. This update introduced the Marketplace, which gave players access to a wide range of outfits, emotes, takedowns, and nameplates. Additionally, shipments and Hero Challenge cards were removed, credits were converted, and various bug fixes, combat improvements, and gameplay changes were implemented. These changes enhanced the game's sense of power, allowing each Avenger to feel like a formidable force rather than constrained by live-service elements.

Although Marvel's Avengers is coming to an end, there are exciting developments in other Marvel multiverse games. Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is set to release on October 20, with a Wolverine game currently in development. EA is also working on an Iron Man game, and a video game featuring Captain America and Black Panther is being developed by Amy Hennig, known for her work on the Uncharted series, in collaboration with Skydance Media.
