Hulk Smashes Onto Disney+ In Epic Marvel Movie Drop

Get ready to smash with The Incredible Hulk as it finally arrives on Disney+! But where are Far From Home and No Way Home? Discover why these two MCU movies are missing from the streaming platform

Disney+ has announced the arrival of The Incredible Hulk, leaving only two Marvel Cinematic Universes yet to join the platform. Despite being considered the black sheep of the MCU by some, the movie's reputation has improved over time, with several characters making a comeback in subsequent films. After 15 years since its release, The Incredible Hulk finally finds its place on Disney+, where it will join nearly all other MCU movies. According to a tweet from the official Disney+ account, fans in the United States can watch The Incredible Hulk starting tomorrow, June 16.

Disney+'s library of MCU movies includes 30 out of the 32 movies released since 2008. The most recent additions to the streaming platform are The Incredible Hulk, bringing the count up to 30. The only two films not currently available on Disney+ are Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Why Disney+ Doesn't Have Far From Home Or No Way Home

Although Tom Holland's Spider-Man is a prominent character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is important to note that Marvel Studios does not have ownership of the film rights to the character. Instead, Sony holds the rights to Spider-Man. However, as part of a recent agreement, several Spider-Man movies, including Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man, Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming, and even Tom Hardy's Venom, are now available for streaming on Disney+.

It is evident that both Disney and Sony are keen on having all Spider-Man-related movies accessible on Disney+. However, the absence of Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home in the initial lineup of movies for the new streaming deal between the two companies can be attributed to prior contractual obligations with other streaming services. Movies like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Morbius fall under this category as well.

However, given the fruitful partnership between Marvel and Sony, which guarantees Holland's continued presence in the MCU and the upcoming Spider-Man 4, it is expected that all Spider-Man-related movies will eventually become available on Disney+. It is hoped that the remaining Holland Spider-Man movies will follow The Incredible Hulk's example and find their way to the platform soon, resulting in all MCU films being accessible on the streaming service.
