The first rerun of Honkai: Star Rail in version 1.4 shocks players as it comes earlier than expected. This recurring banner introduces the limited 5-star unit, Seele, making her debut. Accompanying Seele's rerun banner is another Hunt character, an IPC worker named Topaz, and her companion Trotter, Numby. Both units share the Path of Hunt, posing a challenge for players to choose between Seele and Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail.
Seele Or Topaz In Honkai: Star Rail
When deciding on which banner to pull on in Honkai: Star Rail, it's natural to feel confusion since both are Hunt units. On one hand, Seele is a Quantum character who enjoys launching repetitive attacks, while Topaz & Numby prefer to focus on the same target using their follow-up attack mechanics. Here are some factors to consider when contemplating whether to summon for Seele or Topaz.
Role
As Hunt characters in Honkai: Star Rail, both Topaz and Seele excel in single-target damage dealing. Nonetheless, it is important to mention that Seele performs exceptionally well in the Forgotten Hall, whereas Topaz may not be as proficient when fighting alone.
Seele utilizes SPD, Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, and her extra turn to her advantage, while Topaz brings forth follow-up attacks and amps up the impact of Numby's hits. In the Simulated Universe, Seele displays strength, although her abilities may seem straightforward, whereas Topaz proves to be an incredibly powerful catalyst for enhancing the buffs on the Elation Path.
Equipment
Seele's best Relic is the Genius of Brilliant Stars when it comes to equipment, and it harmonizes well with most Hunt Light Cones. On the other hand, Topaz has more options when it comes to Relics as Firesmith of Lava-Forging can be outperformed by Champion of Streetwise Boxing or a combination of 2-Firesmith of Lava-Forging + 2-Musketeer of Wild Wheat. However, her Light Cones are more limited as there are not many follow-up attack DMG bonuses available. This means she must rely on universal DMG, ATK, or Crit buffs.
Nevertheless, if players obtain Topaz's signature Light Cone, Worrisome, Blissful, in Honkai: Star Rail, it can surpass Seele's In the Night as In the Night only benefits the wielder, whereas Topaz's weapon provides a significant buff for the entire team.
Team
Seele VS Topaz In Honkai: Star Rail
In terms of team composition, Seele offers a higher level of flexibility compared to Topaz. Topaz necessitates a specific lineup, preferably consisting of Tingyun (or other units that grant Energy) and at least one additional attacker for subsequent follow-up attacks. On the other hand, Seele performs exceptionally well as the main damage dealer without the need for additional team members. In fact, players can maximize her damage output even further by including two buffers in the team.
In conclusion, players should pull for Seele if:
They need a Quantum DPS
Want a fast unit that can annihilate small enemies
Need someone who’s powerful in both Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall
Meanwhile, Trailblazers are better off with Topaz if:
They need a Fire DPS
Have a lot of follow-up attackers
Want an Elation Simulated Universe character

As a Gen Z fan, I am excited about the Honkai: Star Rail game and the decision between Seele and Topaz. Seele is a Quantum character who enjoys launching repetitive attacks, while Topaz & Numby prefer to focus on the same target using their follow-up attack mechanics.
In my opinion, Seele is the better choice because she is more versatile and can be used in more team compositions. She also has a higher damage output and is more powerful in both the Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall. Topaz, on the other hand, is more limited in her team compositions and is not as powerful in the Simulated Universe or Forgotten Hall. Seele also has a better Relic, the Genius of Brilliant Stars, which harmonizes well with most Hunt Light Cones. Topaz has more options when it comes to Relics, but her Light Cones are more limited as there are not many follow-up attack DMG bonuses available.
