Palace manager Roy Hodgson expressed his satisfaction, stating, "This news is absolutely fantastic. Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman deserve congratulations for their outstanding work."

Chelsea has suffered a setback as both Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Romeo Lavia from Southampton, who recently signed lucrative deals worth a total of £173m, have decided to join Chelsea over Liverpool, despite the latter having already secured agreements with their former clubs.

Meanwhile, Palace have avoided the possibility of losing another key player after Wilfried Zaha left for Galatasaray on a free transfer.
