Chizome Akaguro, also known as the Hero Killer Stain, is a notorious villain and former vigilante who despises the corrupt hero society and its dishonest heroes. Admiring All Might as the only true hero, Stain made it his mission to eliminate the fake heroes from the world by killing them. Starting out as a child who both feared and respected All Might, Chizome enrolled in a prestigious hero school hoping to emulate its graduates, only to discover the institution was filled with wickedness and dishonesty. Disenchanted, Chizome abandoned his studies and became the vigilante known as Stendhal. Over time, he embraced the title of Hero Killer and dedicated himself to eradicating all false heroes.
In the My Hero Academia manga series, the last sighting of Stain was at Tartarus prison, where he was among numerous inmates released in chapter 383. He kept vigil over All Might's statue and observed a girl who regularly came to clean it. When All Might himself appeared to reprimand himself, Stain threatened to kill him before realizing that All Might was the hero he admired. Doubting the frail Toshinori Yagi's claim to be the top hero, Stain shared crucial information about All For One with All Might, leading to a shift in the conflict's outcome and enabling the heroes to better prepare for their impending fate.
The State Of The War
All For One has once again reached his peak physical condition, resulting in an explosive and climactic final showdown. The battle has become incredibly unpredictable as circumstances rapidly change, thanks to the efforts of Mt. Lady, Hawks, and the Shiketsu students who are determined to stop him. However, the situation takes a sudden turn when Kurogiri unexpectedly reappears and separates Dabi from Shoto Todoroki, who had been engaging him in combat. This unexpected turn of events throws the heroes' preparations into disarray, leaving Dabi to face off against Endeavor. The greatest obstacle standing in the heroes' way is All For One, who is determined to reach Tomura Shigaraki in order to ensure that he remains firmly under his control, eliminating any possibility of rebellion. As Dabi prepares to unleash a devastating explosion and All For One is left unattended, Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi panics. To calm his nerves, All Might reaches out to Shoto and Tenya, emphasizing that the fate of the world now rests in their hands. Despite their exhaustion from their previous encounter with Dabi, the two agree that they must press forward and rescue their endangered allies. In the meantime, All Might assures them that a powerful ally is eagerly awaiting All For One's arrival, ready to confront their arch-nemesis head-on.
Stain’s Role
Throughout the climactic final battle, Stain silently observes as Shoto and Tenya urgently make their way to the Gunga Mountains to face Dabi, who has been transported there by Endeavor. Despite the enigma surrounding Stain's motivations, it is reasonable to assume that he supports the heroes, considering that he shared crucial information about All For One's plots with them.
How Can Stain Affect The Final War?
Stain, a highly skilled fighter, has the potential to greatly impact a decisive conflict. The heroes are in desperate need of more manpower, and if Stain chooses to join their fight, it would greatly relieve their burden. As Stain listens to Shoto and Tenya discussing their powers and their purpose to protect and guide vulnerable children, he quietly utters the word "Altruism," which signifies selflessly caring for others' well-being without considering personal interests. The Hero Killer has the choice to employ his abilities to shield innocent civilians from harm or assist them in battling the imminent evil. Regardless of his decision, if Stain acts for the greater good instead of indulging in evil, he will significantly decrease the number of casualties in the war, resulting in a more positive impact on the overall outcome.
