Helldivers 2 is set to release a new Premium Warbond next week, featuring experimental-style weapons such as an arc throwing shotgun. Arrowhead Game Studios has had a wild journey since the launch of their popular third-person online shooter. After experiencing a surge in popularity, the studio faced server issues due to the overwhelming number of excited players. Thanks to continuous updates and server improvements, fans can now easily log in and battle enemy forces without any problems.
With most game issues resolved, Arrowhead has been focusing on enhancing the game with new content and ongoing updates. A recent update for Helldivers 2 introduced weather effects like fire tornadoes and meteor strikes. However, it also included nerfs to popular gear such as the Breaker shotgun and Energy Shield Backpack stratagem, disappointing some players who relied on those items for challenging missions. Despite this, the update brought buffs to underused gear like the Flamethrower. Arrowhead is now gearing up to release more new weapons and armor for players to enjoy.
Arrowhead has announced the release of the new Premium Warbond in a recent PlayStation Blog post. Called Cutting Edge, this update will be available for Helldivers 2 players starting on March 14. By using Super Credits, players can unlock 3 new armor sets, 3 "experimental" weapons, a stun grenade, as well as other items like capes, emotes, and player cards. The new armor sets, namely EX-03 Prototype 3, EX-16 Prototype 316, and EX-00 Prototype X, feature Earthy-tones of tans and greens and may provide unique passive bonuses not seen before.

New Helldivers 2 Weapons included in Cutting Edge
Arc-12 Blitzer
The second weapon in the arsenal is the SP-8P Punisher Plasma. Just like the Blitzer, this weapon in Helldivers 2 offers players two firing modes. Users can choose between a rapid plasma shot for close-range combat or charging up for a devastating plasma burst.
Another shotgun is included in the Cutting Edge warbond, though unlike the Blitzer, this one fires exploding plasma rounds similar to what one woudl expect from a grenade launcher.
LAS-16 Sickle
The last weapon in the trio is a rifle that shoots laser rounds in a burst fire mode. This rifle doesn't require reloading, but players should be cautious of overheating.
Players looking forward to unlocking new content will be happy with the additional updates. However, the introduction of weapons and armor is just the beginning. Helldivers 2 has hinted at even more significant changes with the inclusion of pilotable mech suits known as the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit. While some players have had a chance to try out the mech and buggy, the developer has been hinting at a larger release of these items in the upcoming weeks through social media.
