Harry Styles knows hair isn’t what makes you beautiful — but that doesn’t mean all his fans are OK with his new ‘do.
The 29-year-old singer was seen with a new hairstyle at U2's Sphere concert in Las Vegas, accompanied by his rumored girlfriend Taylor Russell. Photos obtained by TMZ show Styles, famous for his thick brown curls, sporting a fresh buzzcut while enjoying the band's popular songs alongside Russell, also 29.
Interestingly, this hair change appears to be a recent choice for Styles, as he was observed with his usual full head of hair during his time with Russell in London earlier this autumn.
When images of Styles' new shorter hairstyle emerged earlier this week, fans of the musician immediately took to social media to share their reactions. One person jokingly commented, "How can you be named Harry Styles when you have no hair to style?" Another added, "This day will go down in history as the day the world collectively mourned over Harry Styles' beautiful hair."
There were speculations that the haircut was a response to Taylor Swift's new song, "Now That We Don't Talk," from her reissue of 1989 (Taylor's Version). The track describes an ex-partner, rumored to be Styles, who grew out their hair after the breakup.
“She sings about how you grew your hair long and acquired new icons, giving the impression that you are trying to live a different life on the surface. She confesses that she misses the old ways, where you didn't feel the need to change. However, she also acknowledges that she doesn't have a say in your choices anymore since you two no longer communicate. Fans speculate that their short-lived romance, which started in December 2012 and ended during a trip to the Virgin Islands, heavily influenced her fifth studio album, 1989. Songs like 'Out of the Woods' and 'Style' are believed to be inspired by their relationship."
When Swift released her 1989 rerelease last month, fans were quick to spot connections between the new bonus tracks "from The Vault" and the original tracklist. While Swift has never openly confirmed that her music is about Styles, she has hinted at the possibility of revealing her inspirations. In an interview with Rolling Stone after the release of 1989, she mentioned that "Style" could have easily been titled "I'm Not Even Sorry."
Following their split in 2013, Swift subsequently entered into relationships with notable celebrities such as Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, and Joe Alwyn. In September, she began a romantic involvement with Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City team, and the two have been seen together on multiple occasions. Styles, on the other hand, had dated Kendall Jenner and Olivia Wilde before being romantically linked to Russell in June.
Although they have largely kept a low profile, a trusted source revealed exclusively to We magazine in October that Styles and Russell are in a deeply committed relationship. The insider stated, "Harry is truly envisioning a future with Taylor" and emphasized that the Grammy-winning artist relishes the opportunity to spend as much time with her as possible.
