The staff of the Haikyuu!! anime franchise has announced that Haikyuu!! the Movie: The Battle at the Garbage Dump will be released in Japan on Friday, February 16, 2024. This announcement was made during the Haikyu!! Festa 2023 event, where the staff unveiled the film's first trailer and key visual.
The key visual showcases Hinata Shouyo and Kenma Kozume, who will both have significant roles in the upcoming match between Karasuno High and Nekoma High. In the image, the two characters are seen confronting each other with knives, borrowed directly from a panel in the original manga by Haruichi Furudate.
The initial trailer of the film commenced with a nostalgic moment depicting the first meeting between Hinata and Kenma. As Hinata was bursting with enthusiasm to join Karasuno High's volleyball team, Kenma, although a starter, displayed a lack of interest in the sport. However, everything was about to undergo a remarkable transformation after their encounter.
