Gypsy Rose Blanchard has filed for divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson after less than two years of marriage.

We can confirm via online records that Blanchard, 32, filed the docs on Monday, April 8.

In March, it was reported that the couple had decided to end their relationship. According to People magazine, Blanchard posted a message on her personal Facebook page.

She wrote, "Many people have been asking about my life lately. Unfortunately, my husband and I are separating, and I have moved back to my parents' house by the bayou. I am grateful for the love and support of my family and friends during this difficult time. I am taking this opportunity to listen to my heart and discover more about myself."

Blanchard has been seen in Louisiana with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker since they announced their separation. They had been engaged in 2018 but ended things in 2019, and recently got matching tattoos.

On the other hand, Anderson recently spoke out for the first time and admitted that he is struggling with the split. He mentioned that the breakup came as a surprise to him, as he had no idea that Blanchard still had strong feelings for Urker.

Three months after being released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, Blanchard experienced a breakup. She had served seven years in prison for planning the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2015, alongside her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

After her mother's death, Gypsy admitted to second-degree murder and received a 10-year prison sentence. In September 2023, she was granted parole, leading to her release in December of the same year.

In 2020, Gypsy, who was still in prison at the time, got in touch with Anderson after receiving a letter from him. Two years later, they got married in a ceremony held in jail.

Once Gypsy was released, the couple decided to live together. However, they reportedly started facing problems in their marriage. According to Gypsy's friend Nadiya Vizier, Blanchard locked herself in the bathroom in Lake Charles, Louisiana, while Anderson loudly knocked on the door late at night.

Vizier shared with People that there was a confrontation where Anderson got in Gypsy's face and yelled at her. She mentioned that Gypsy locked herself in the bathroom, and Anderson demanded to be let in.

Gypsy expressed to Vizier that she was afraid Anderson would physically harm her, although he did not. This fear stemmed from past experiences with her mother. Gypsy's immediate reaction was to protect herself and seek safety. She even contacted her lawyer for assistance, considering Anderson's intimidating stature and the frightening situation.

Following the alleged altercation, Gypsy reportedly took her belongings and traveled to her father’s house in Cut Off, Louisiana.
