Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of Stranger Things, may potentially be taking on a new role as suggested by Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Brown has garnered attention for her performances in various Netflix projects including Enola Holmes and Damsel, solidifying her status as a rising star in the past decade.
A new, potentially controversial role may be in the works for her, and it has come at the request of none other than Gypsy Rose Blanchard herself. After completing her prison sentence, the infamous public figure has expressed her desire for the star to portray her in a future project.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is open to another biopic project
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is one of the most documented American murderers of recent times, due to the nature of what pushed her to commit such an act.
Blanchard endured years of abuse from her mother Dee Dee, who had Munchausen syndrome by proxy. She underwent unnecessary medical procedures and was even made to use a feeding tube despite not actually being sick. Her mother also convinced her she was 15 years old when she was actually 21.
In 2015, Blanchard met her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, online and together they planned and carried out her mother's murder. Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but was released two years early on December 28, 2023.
The high-profile case resulted in Dee Dee's murder, and Blanchard has gained considerable sympathy from the public due to the circumstances. She even became a social media sensation after her release from prison.

During a recent interview on The View with Blanchard, host Joy Behar had to be reminded that comforting Blanchard after she consoled Blanchard because "murder is wrong."
Blanchard seems to embrace her growing celebrity status, participating in more interviews and regularly sharing content on TikTok.

And in another interview with Access Hollywood, Blanchard revealed how she would like to see Millie Bobby Brown play her in a screen project about her life.
Brown expressed interest in starring in a biopic about Britney Spears, but was rejected by Spears on Instagram. This comes in the wake of the existing Blanchard biopic series "The Act," featuring Joey King, which Blanchard seems to have overlooked.
At present, there are no confirmed plans regarding Millie Bobby Brown, as she is currently busy filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z netizen, I have mixed feelings about Gypsy Rose Blanchard's suggestion for Millie Bobby Brown to portray her in a future project. On the one hand, I understand Blanchard's desire to have her story told accurately and respectfully, and I believe that Brown is a talented actress who could potentially do the role justice. On the other hand, I am concerned about the potential glorification of Blanchard's actions and the impact this could have on young viewers.
Blanchard's story is a complex one, and it is important to remember that she was a victim of abuse and manipulation. However, it is also important to recognize that she committed a crime and that her actions had serious consequences. I worry that portraying Blanchard in a sympathetic light could send the wrong message to young people who may be struggling with their own difficult circumstances.
