Brooke Shields’ daughter Grier Hammond Henchy made a stunning appearance alongside her mom on the red carpet in New York City on Sunday, December 10, and fans couldn't help but notice her elegant dress.
Seventeen-year-old Grier wore the same dress her mother, Shields, wore to the 2006 Hope Ball in Los Angeles just six months after giving birth to her. The strapless, long black silk gown, designed by Richard Tyler, was paired with pointy black pumps, a silver watch, and gold hoop earrings. Grier styled her hair straight and tucked behind her ears, and added glamour with long lashes and winged black eyeliner to accentuate her eyes.
17 years ago, Shields matched the stylish dress with black open-toed heels and a mini black purse. She also wore a thick silver bangle and dangling earrings, with her hair styled up and one piece framing her face. Similar to her daughter, Shields also had on black winged eyeliner and long lashes.
This Sunday, Shields chose a similar style, wearing a black floor-length dress with thin spaghetti straps. She accessorized with a simple silver bracelet, a star-shaped pendant necklace, and silver hoop earrings. Shields wore her hair down in loose waves and her signature red lipstick.

Shields’ daughters have frequently taken inspiration from her wardrobe. Back in June 2021, her eldest daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy, donned the same iconic red dress that Shields wore to the 1998 Golden Globes for her high school prom. Shields shared a collection of Instagram pictures of her daughter Rowan, who is now 20, donning the iconic gown. In the caption, she expressed, “I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom ️ proud mama!”
