Meghan McCain remains resentful towards Ariana Madix for reportedly editing her out of a picture. Speaking on her podcast, "Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat," on Monday, October 22, the 39-year-old recalled the contentious encounter that took place between the two women at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner earlier this year.
McCain expressed her enthusiasm as she welcomed Madix, Lisa Vanderpump, and Lala Kent at the April event. After the encounter, she shared a photo of the group on social media. However, McCain was taken aback when she discovered that Lisa had reposted Jerry O'Connell's picture but had cropped her and her friends out of it. This unexpected behavior left McCain confused and shocked, prompting her to reach out to her boss to address the unnecessary drama that had arisen. Moreover, she pointed out that she had not even interacted with Lisa, leaving her puzzled about the situation.
A spokesperson for Madix addressed the unintentional cropping of the photo in a statement to Page Six. They emphasized that there was no hidden motive behind the post, whether political or otherwise, and explained that it was simply the way the post appeared.
Madix herself took to Instagram to provide further clarification. She highlighted that the photo was uploaded in a vertical format, which naturally resulted in not everyone being fully visible. She also mentioned the distinction between a regular post on the main feed and a zoomed-in Instagram story post, acknowledging that aspect ratios play a role in how images are displayed.

Sharing her version of events on Monday, McCain offered an update on where she and Madix stand now.
McCain claimed that Madix blocked her on Instagram without any explanation. She stated that she would have appreciated if Madix had simply said that she didn't support Republicans or didn't like Meghan McCain. McCain called Madix a "mean girl" and expressed how the incident negatively impacted her experience at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year.
"If you are visiting my town, alongside my community, specifically for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, it is a moment where we unite joyfully," she concluded. "It is a time for people with varying political beliefs, both liberals and Republicans, as well as journalists and entertainers, to come together and celebrate their involvement in political coverage."
Earlier in Monday's podcast episode, McCain expressed her solidarity with Madix's former Vanderpump Rules colleague, Rachel "Raquel" Leviss. The popular Bravo series gained attention in March when it was confirmed that Madix had separated from Tom Sandoval, her partner of almost ten years, due to his involvement with Leviss, 29.
McCain strongly criticized Madix's response to the drama that unfolded during the season 10 reunion special. She questioned why Leviss was subjected to such harsh judgment from the public and took multiple jabs at Madix.
"At the reunion, my opinion completely changed – I didn't like it at all. I faced criticism for taking Raquel's side, but I couldn't care less. All I had to base my opinion on was what I observed," McCain stated, while calling out Madix's remarks directed towards Leviss during the May special. "I still feel sorry for her. Everyone is profiting from this situation. Tom is now back on good terms with everyone, and Raquel is still left with nothing."
This isn’t the first time McCain shared her surprising hot takes on the Vanderpump Rules scandal.
In June, McCain wrote an op-ed for the Daily Mail about feeling “more compassion” for Leviss.
"Tom and Raquel were overwhelmed by a profound hatred. With Scandoval's ongoing media coverage, I found myself sympathizing more with Raquel than Ariana," she observed. "Although both she and Tom had behaved poorly, she showed accountability for her actions and was clearly going through a difficult time. Raquel sought help by admitting herself into a mental health facility and had remained in seclusion until the reunion finale."
On the other hand, Madix remains unfazed by minor issues as she flourishes on Dancing With the Stars — which also earned her the spotlight as Us Magazine's latest cover star.
Madix, in an exclusive interview with Us earlier this month for our Reality Stars of the Year cover story, expressed her immense pride in the fact that she has the ability to persevere. She mentioned that going through this particular situation made her realize her capability to overcome challenges. Even though the worst-case scenario actually unfolded, she remained unscathed. This experience served as a reminder that she is capable of handling whatever comes her way.
