Since then, the 27-year-old has been on fire, winning the RBC Heritage just a week after his second green jacket win at Augusta. This victory marked his fourth win in five starts.
Scheffler took a break from competing last week to support his wife Meredith as she welcomed their first child, Bennett.
"It's a pretty crazy feeling sitting at home with the girl I dated in high school, our child, and then seeing the Green Jacket in the closet," he expressed, "I just want to express my gratitude as much as I can."
After playing on Thursday in Louisville, Scheffler was already thinking about fixing "a few mistakes," he mentioned.
"I missed two putts I thought I could make today, but it happens when the greens aren't in perfect condition," he explained. "I have a few things to work on for tomorrow, but I'm happy with how I played overall today."
