Golfer Brooks Koepka and Wife Jena Sims Share Heartwarming Journey of Their Preemie's NICU Stay

Brooks Koepka and his wife Jena Sims have joyfully announced the arrival of their first child. Sims shared the exciting news on Thursday, August 3, through her Instagram Story. She revealed that their baby boy, named Crew Sims Koepka, couldn't wait to enter the world. Just two minutes after Brooks had returned home from the gym on Thursday, July 27th at 5:50 pm, her water broke. This happened six weeks before her due date, proving that their little one already knows how to make a grand entrance. Sims also shared a delightful Boomerang video of the newborn kicking his feet.
Koepka also took to Instagram to post a picture of himself and Sims tenderly embracing Crew in the NICU. Expressing his affection, he captioned the photo, "I adore my precious Crew."
Crew arrived into the world through a C-section after a three-hour long labor. Sims clarified that although it was not her preferred method, it was the necessary route for ensuring the safety of their child.
Sims revealed that their son “is going to be in the NICU a little longer,” telling fans to “refrain from asking” how long since they don’t know themselves.
"Leaving the hospital without your baby is an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone," expressed Sims. "It has been the most difficult task we have ever encountered. We have made it a point to visit him as often as we can, and we take comfort in knowing that he is receiving the absolute best care."

She also praised Koepka, 33, describing him as an "exceptional father and companion."
"I have genuinely never witnessed or experienced such overwhelming love and a sense of teamwork as I have with Brooks during this entire journey," she expressed elatedly. "I would not have been able to succeed without his support."
Koepka, on his end, posted an Instagram photo of himself and Sims embracing Crew in the NICU and humorously expressed his love for him.
Sims and Koepka tied the knot in June 2022, just one month after revealing their pregnancy.
Weeks before she gave birth, Sims exclusively opened up to We about how she was body-shamed by trolls while pregnant.

"I didn't start showing until I reached the six-month mark because I have a naturally thin physique," she said during her conversation with Us. "There were numerous occasions where I would inform people about my pregnancy and they would respond with skepticism, questioning the existence of my baby. It felt as though I had to constantly prove myself, resembling a form of body-shaming."
She went on to express, "Your perception of what a pregnancy should look like or how I should carry myself is not something I am accountable for. With my husband already being in the public eye, we are constantly under scrutiny."
