Hanami, an unregistered special-grade curse in the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, joined forces with the villains Jogo, Dagon, and Mahito. Throughout the first season, Hanami's character has fascinated and captivated fans. Originating from the fear of natural disasters, Hanami sought to eliminate humanity for their mistreatment of Mother Nature.
In pursuit of this goal, Hanami participated in the Shibuya Massacre plan, aiming to defeat Gojo Satoru and activate the Prison Realm. However, as anticipated, Hanami proved no match for the most powerful sorcerer of the modern era, and was ultimately pulverized by Gojo. After the recent episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans have been posing questions such as "Is Hanami dead?" and "Did Gojo kill Hanami?"
This article delves into discussing the fate of Hanami and explains whether or not he will return in the future.

While Hanami managed to flee during the Kyoto Goodwill Arc after experiencing the wrath of Gojo Satoru in the form of Hollow Purple, he was unable to achieve the same outcome in the Shibuya Incident arc. As stated in Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen, Hanami, along with Jogo and Choso, was tasked with stalling Gojo Satoru for a duration of one minute.
The revelation unveiled a crucial condition for the all-encompassing capabilities of the Prison Realm. The activation process requires a full minute for the cube to take effect. Consequently, Hanami, along with others, meticulously adhered to Pseudo Geto's strategy and exerted their utmost efforts to confine Gojo within the confines of the Prison Realm for the duration of sixty seconds.
As Gojo entered Shibuya, Hanami and the others prepared to confront him. In the latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, viewers witnessed the white-haired sorcerer specifically target Hanami, determined to teach a lesson for their repeated appearances. Surprisingly, Gojo disabled his infinite power and launched a simultaneous attack on both Jogo and Hanami.
Witnessing Gojo effortlessly snap Jogo's arm, Hanami realized that the sorcerer had deactivated his cursed technique. It seemed that Gojo intended to rely solely on his cursed energy and engage in close combat. Thinking along the same lines, Hanami disabled their domain amplification in order to utilize their own cursed technique.

Unbeknownst to his opponent, Gojo had strategically planned for this exact situation. With lightning speed, the sorcerer with snowy locks lunged towards Hanami, seizing hold of the protruding branches emanating from his eyes and forcefully yanking them out. Gojo slyly anticipated that neither Hanami nor the others possessed the capability to employ both domain amplification and their innate techniques simultaneously.
While Choso managed to briefly divert Gojo's attention, Gojo didn't give him much consideration. Moments later, Jogo and Hanami attempted another assault on Gojo using their Domain Amplification. However, the sorcerer cautioned that it could prove lethal for them.

Getting up close to a weakened Hanami, the most powerful sorcerer of the modern era activated his infinity once again. He then used his infinity barrier and the third curtain of the Fukotoshin B5F to crush Hanami. Essentially, Gojo's infinity functioned like a hydraulic press, ultimately resulting in Hanami's death.
Ultimately, it was a nearly suicidal task for the special-grade curses. While Jogo and Choso managed to survive Gojo Satoru's relentless attack, Hanami, the special-grade curse, succumbed to the immense pressure of infinity. However, Hanami would later reappear in this storyline, albeit as an illusion or vision experienced by a particular character at the moment of their demise.
