Adapted from the fantasy light novel series of the same name by author Kei Sezane and illustrator Toiro Tomose, "The Gods' Game We Play" is published by Media under the MF Bunko JP imprint. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle of the anime Gods' Game We Play released the series' second promotional video on December 20, 2023, unveiling the anime's release date of April 2024. The trailer also introduced the show's additional cast and theme songs.

In the trailer, the main heroine, Leoleshea, narrates the backdrop of the anime, mentioning how the Gods, with plenty of free time, have given humans the power to challenge them in their game called "Arise."

Later, Leoleshea reveals that Fei Theophilus is the crucial figure in defeating the Gods in this game. Subsequently, the promotional video introduces the new characters, Nell, Pearl, and Miranda.

The additional cast members for the Gods' Game We Play anime have been announced. Hina Tachibana, a well-known voice actress, will play the role of Pearl Diamond, a teleporter who retires after a fatal mistake. Kanna Nakamura, also known as Un from the Classroom of Heroes, will lend her voice to the former apostle Nell Reckless. Additionally, Ami Koshimizu, known for her role as Holo in Spice and Wolf, will portray Miranda in this series.

Details about the theme song artists have been released as well. As per the official staff of the anime, the popular J-pop group AliA will be performing the opening theme titled "New Game," and Hina Tachibana will be singing the ending theme "I'm GAME." Interestingly, the trailer features a preview of the opening song along with glimpses of the characters.
