The series' promotional video also reveals a 2024 release date, following the announcement made on the website. Additionally, a captivating visual showcasing the central trio of the series has been unveiled, along with the announcement of the main cast for the anime. Yusuke Kobayashi will take on the role of Fighter D (alternatively known as Footsoldier D or simply D), Daishi Kajita will portray Hibiki Sakurama, and Yumika Yano will provide the voice for Yumeko Suzukiri.
The anime series, scheduled to air on 28 TBS networks in Japan, will be directed by Keiichi Sato at Yostar Pictures studios. Sato, the creative director of Yostar Pictures and representative of the studio's IP department, will be joined by Keiichiro Ochi, who will be in charge of the series composition. More key staff members are expected to be announced as the release date approaches.
The manga series, originally launched by Haruba in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2021, is still being serialized. Japan recently released the 11th compilation volume on September 14, 2023. In English, Kodansha USA Publishing has released the sixth volume on August 22, 2023, with release dates for volumes seven through ten already announced.
