For many users, updating their operating system can be a tedious task, which is why some put off updates for as long as they can. However, for those who can't wait to try out the latest features, Microsoft is offering a new option in Windows 11.

If you're an early adopter who can't wait to get your hands on the latest Windows features, there's good news: preview update KB5025305 for Windows 11 includes a new toggle that lets you opt into receiving non-security updates and new features before anyone else. To activate this feature, simply go to Start > Settings > Windows Update and flip the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" switch. Once you do, Microsoft will prioritize your PC for the first wave of updates whenever they're released.

It's worth noting that the toggle won't affect recommended security updates, which will continue to be installed as usual. Additionally, managed devices (those being managed by Windows Update for Business or WSUS) won't be able to enable this feature.

Note that this does not affect security updates, which will continue to be received as usual. This toggle primarily impacts updates that bring new features and other improvements to the operating system. These updates can often take several months before they are available to everyone, particularly larger upgrades such as last year's Windows 11 22H2 update. This is typically due to lingering bugs or other issues. However, if you don't want to wait, you now have the option to receive updates almost immediately.

This should be rolling out to everyone during the May 2023 Patch Tuesday, so keep an eye out for this update.
