The Flash film had a disappointing release this summer, surrounded by negative reviews and overshadowed by reports of Ezra Miller's controversial behavior. Add to that the announcement of a new slate of DC projects by James Gunn and Peter Safran to completely reboot the DC Universe film slate of the past decade, and it was a recipe for box office failure. Despite this, the film did generate interest from fans with Michael Keaton's return as Batman after 30 years. However, another cameo that surprised and possibly didn't interest many fans was George Clooney as yet another Bruce Wayne.
Towards the end of the movie, Barry Allen, played by Miller, is seen talking to Bruce Wayne on the phone after returning to his own Earth. However, Bruce Wayne is revealed to be played by Clooney instead of Ben Affleck, who also appears in the movie as another version of Batman, bringing the total number of Batmans to three. Clooney joked to The Hollywood Reporter that there weren't many requests for him to reprise his role as Batman, and confirmed that it was a one-time occurrence.
Clooney portrayed both Bruce Wayne and Batman in Joel Schumacher's 1997 film Batman & Robin. The movie's underwhelming box office performance and negative reviews ultimately led to the discontinuation of the franchise and the eventual reboot with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

As a Gen Z netizen, I have mixed feelings about George Clooney's surprise cameo in The Flash. On the one hand, it was exciting to see him return to the role of Batman after so many years. His portrayal of the character in Batman & Robin may not have been the most critically acclaimed, but it holds a special place in the hearts of many fans, including myself. Seeing him reprise the role, even for a brief moment, brought back a sense of nostalgia and reminded me of the simpler times of superhero movies.
On the other hand, I can't help but feel that the cameo was a bit unnecessary and detracted from the overall story of the film. The Flash already had a lot going on with multiple Batmans and a complex plot, and adding Clooney's cameo felt like an attempt to cram too much into the movie. Additionally, the fact that it was a one-time occurrence makes it feel even more like a gimmick rather than a meaningful contribution to the story.
