George and Amal Clooney are couple goals, but he has no shame in admitting that they aren’t quite on the same level.
During a recent interview with Page Six, 62-year-old George admitted that he feels like he's "punching above" with his marriage to 45-year-old Amal, even nearly a decade after they got married. He teased that he still believes she is out of his league. "Everyone would say the same thing," he added.
Their romance began after meeting in Lake Como, Italy, in 2013, and they tied the knot a year later at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Italy.
In February 2017, it was confirmed that George and Amal were expecting twins. Their son Alexander and daughter Ella were born in June of that year. George, once considered one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, underwent a significant transformation when he met Amal. According to an exclusive source who spoke to Us in 2021, he had long doubted he would find the soulmate he had always dreamed of, but Amal truly swept him off his feet.

George consistently praises Amal as extraordinary, and according to his recent interview, he makes it known to everyone that he's the lucky one in their relationship. The couple, who founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice together, continuously work to keep the spark alive in their marriage. Despite facing challenges, they have stayed strong and solid through compromise, boundaries, and patience.
When it comes to raising their 6-year-old twins, George and Amal share equal responsibility. A second source revealed earlier this year that the couple has formed a genuine partnership, taking turns preparing the kids' breakfast and lunches, as well as bringing them to their various activities.
The family of four enjoyed a summer spent "the European way" in Lake Como, which was perfect for Ella and Alexander. According to a second insider, they took boat rides, participated in water sports, and had a small group of friends their age in the area for playdates.
While maintaining their children's privacy, George and Amal have enjoyed numerous fashionable date nights throughout the year, attending events such as the 80th annual Venice Film Festival in August and the Los Angeles premiere of George’s film The Boys in the Boat earlier this month.

Amal looked stunning in a bright Atelier Versace gown on the L.A. red carpet. George jokingly commented to Entertainment Tonight about his wife's fashion sense, saying, "She cleans up." He then added, "I'm always embarrassed because I'm wearing something that I've worn, like, 1,000 times."
As director and producer of The Boys in the Boat, the Oscar winner humorously remarked that he has been overshadowed by Amal's spotlight, joking that his entire career has been reduced to being a plus-one. He recounted a moment at a Women in Film event where he had to introduce himself as 'Amal Clooney's husband', noting that without that association, he felt unrecognized.
